5th Late Shri B. G. Deshmukh Memorial Lecture Held at MIT-WPU

The Department of Economics and Public Policy, in association with the Public Concern for Governance Trust (PCGT), Pune Chapter, organised the 5th Late Shri B. G. Deshmukh Memorial Lecture on the theme “Administration and Security.”

The lecture featured Hon. Shri Vappala Balachandran, Former Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, as the Special Guest of Honour. He delivered an address on “Role of Intelligence in Governance,” offering valuable perspectives on the significance of intelligence in effective administration, informed decision-making, governance and national security.

The session was followed by an interactive Q&A, during which students actively participated and engaged with Shri Vappala Balachandran on various aspects of administration, intelligence and public policy. His responses and experiences provided students with valuable insights and perspectives.

The lecture offered students and faculty an opportunity to engage with important dimensions of administration, intelligence and public policy, contributing to a meaningful academic interaction.
