Prof. Bharat Bhasker

Prof Bharat Bhasker is a Trusted Leader, Strategist, Academician and well-known Thought Leader. He currently serves as Director, IIM Ahmedabad. Through his transformative leadership, he has been at the forefront of evolving management education in India.

Prior to his current appointment, Prof. Bhasker served as the Director of IIM Raipur from March 2017 to March 2022, where his dynamic leadership won him the 'Best Director of Business Schools' Award, presented for his crucial role in the transformation of the institution. Prior to this, he has held significant key roles at IIM Lucknow as Professor. Information Technology and Systems, and Acting Director, as well as Mentor Director/Convener at IIM Sirmaur.

Complementing his academic career, Prof. Bhasker has extensive international experience through his numerous visiting appointments. He also served as an International Expert Advisor at the University of Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia, a Visiting Professor at ESSEC Business School, Paris, and a Distinguished Professor at Chung-Ang University in Seoul.

His industry experience is equally extensive, with key senior roles held at various institutions including Connectix Corp., SYBASE Inc., MDL Information Systems, Hughes STX Inc., and Tata Steel Ltd. He also held leadership positions with industry bodies, such as the Bureau of Indian Standards and the Computer Society of India.

Prof. Bharat Bhasker holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from IIT Roorkee.
