Bio

Dr. Satish Pawar is a distinguished public health leader and the former Director of Health Services (DHS), Government of Maharashtra. Holding MD and PhD qualifications, he has devoted his career to strengthening public health systems, health policy, and healthcare administration. He has made significant contributions to the development of quality standards, operational guidelines, and policy frameworks for public healthcare facilities at both the state and national levels, playing a pivotal role in advancing healthcare delivery, health systems strengthening, and public health governance in Maharashtra.

As the Advisor, Mentor, and Visiting Faculty for the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, Dr. Pawar provides strategic guidance in curriculum development, academic mentoring, and practice-oriented public

health education. Drawing on his extensive administrative and field experience, he mentors students by sharing practical insights into public health leadership, health policy, program planning and implementation, quality improvement, and the functioning of government health systems.

Through his mentorship, students gain a deeper understanding of real-world public health administration and develop the competencies required to address complex public health challenges. His association with the MPH program bridges the gap between academic learning and public health practice, preparing graduates to become competent, ethical, and visionary public health professionals.
