Bio

Dr. Archana Patil is the former Director of Health Services (DHS), Government of Maharashtra, and a distinguished public health leader with extensive experience in health systems strengthening, public health administration, family welfare, and maternal and child health. Holding MD and PhD qualifications, she has made significant contributions to public health policy, program implementation, and health system governance at the state level.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Patil has provided strategic leadership in advancing Maharashtra's public health system. She has played a pivotal role in strengthening maternal and child health services, reducing maternal mortality, implementing the LaQshya initiative for quality improvement in labour rooms and maternity services, expanding family welfare and immunization programs, and leading key public health initiatives, including the state's response during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her work has consistently emphasized quality of care, health equity, ethical public health practice, and evidence-informed decision-making.

As the Advisor, Mentor, and Visiting Faculty for the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, Dr. Patil provides strategic guidance in curriculum enrichment, academic mentoring, and practice-oriented public health education. She actively mentors students and faculty by sharing her extensive experience in public health leadership, health systems management, and policy implementation.

Through her mentorship, students gain invaluable exposure to the functioning of public health systems, government health administration, and evidence-based public health practice. Her association with the MPH program significantly enriches students' learning by bridging academic knowledge with real-world public health leadership and administration, preparing them to become competent, ethical, and impactful public health professionals
