The International Education Centre at MIT-WPU carries forward the legacy from MAEER’s MIT International Education Centre, Pune, which was established in 2003. The IEC at MIT-WPU caters to the needs of promoting the Indian Education system worldwide. IEC also facilitates the recruitment of International students to various programs.

MIT-WPU, Pune has been one of the pioneering Universities in the field of International Education. As a part of MAEER’s MIT-Group of Institutions, it was one of the first Institutes in the city of Pune and the State of Maharashtra which was granted with a permission to admit the foreign students under the 15% supernumerary quota by All India Council for Technical Education, Govt. of India in 2002.

The International Education Centre (IEC) at MIT-World Peace University helps the International students with the process of admission to the 15% of the total seats for students available to the foreign/OCI/CIWGC & SEA category in various programs.

Foreign students are eligible if they meet the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the various statutory bodies in India and if they get an ‘Equivalency Certificate’ for certain qualifications from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Once a student’s admission is confirmed, and the students arrives in the country, IEC team provides all necessary guidance to help students have a safe and comfortable stay during their study tenure.

    • The MIT-WPU International Education Centre will require:

      • a. Minimum 3 working days after submission of documents, for processing undergraduate admissions.

      • b. For Post-Graduate and Ph.D. Students, the Centre requires minimum 15 working days. Post-Graduate admissions will be finalised only after June every academic year.

    • If required and necessary you need to Approach Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (India) for equivalence of your course. (The details are available on the website please refer to eligibility section.)

    • For Foreign National: -Foreign Nationals will a get scanned copy of the Provisional Admission letter. On the basis of this letter the Indian Embassy/Mission in the concerned Nation will issue a Student Visa in the name of MIT-WPU, Pune India (only Student Visas are acceptable).
      If you are in India already then make the change of course at FRO or return to your Country to bring new Student VISA in the name of MIT-WPU, Pune (INDIA).

    • Please pay the one-time non-refundable Admission Processing & Eligibility Fee at the MIT WPU, Pune bank account (bank details available on the website) and submit the original documents for confirmation of admission at our MIT-WPU IEC, Pune office in person only.

    • Pay Fees as per your course and collect the Final Admission letter from the MIT WPU International Education Centre office. This completes the admission process and the candidate becomes the bonafide student at MIT-WPU, Pune (INDIA)

Students Eligible to apply under 15% Supernumerary seats

1. Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries & South East Asia: The candidates whose parents are working at Gulf countries or South East Asia are only eligible under this category.

2. Foreign Nationals: A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she is a citizen of any country other than India and holds a foreign passport.

3. Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI):
A student is eligible to apply as OCI if he/she is granted with Overseas Citizenship of India and has an OCI card.

4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO):
As per the Government of India Notification dated 9th January 2015, all the existing ‘Persons of Indian Origin’ card holders registered as such shall be deemed to be Overseas Citizens of India card holders (OCI). Under Graduate Programs

  • Prospective students must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from recognized Board/ University. (Percentage of marks may vary from course to course)
  • Students who have appeared for their 10+2 or equivalent examination and awaiting their final results are also eligible to apply subject to their passing before commencement of the program.

Post Graduate Programs

  • Prospective students must have completed3 year Bachelor Degree programme in any discipline from any statutory University with minimum 50% marks at graduate level, except for the programs which require graduation with specific subjects.
  • In case of Engineering Stream the prospective students must have completed full time 4 year Bachelor Degree program from any statutory University with minimum 50% marks at graduate level.

Students who have appeared for their qualifying examinations and are awaiting results, may apply for UG or PG programmes at MIT-World Peace University. Please note that the admissions will be confirmed subject to minimum 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

Only candidates who have the requisite qualifications from foreign universities or Boards of Higher Education accredited and recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Govt. of India, New Delhi are eligible to apply at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune (INDIA)

General Important Instructions For All Foreign Nationals, Children of Indians working in the Gulf, S.E. Asia, PIO, OCI.

1 Please read the guidelines or the procedure of admission before filling the Online Application Form
2 Please write your correct name and surname in the application form. No changes will be made later on.
3 A valid Student Visa/Change of Course on arrival is a pre-requisite for admission. No admission will be granted on Tourist Visa / X-Visa / Medical Visa.
4 All documents need to be translated into English.
5 Visit International Centre with all uploaded original documents, New Visa/Change of Course after you receive the Provisional Letter of Admission and Eligibility.
6 In case of foreign national it is mandatory that the marksheet is attested by Ministry of Education or Indian Embassy in your country or your Country Mission i.e. your Embassy or Consulate in India.
7 It is mandatory for all students to produce the same documents in original at the time of Firm Admission submission, as have been uploaded at the time of filling the form.
8 Only Students having passed 12th Std. are eligible for Bachelors Admission.
9 Only students having Bachelor Degree are eligible for Masters Admission.

11 All Foreign Nationals, Children of Indians Working in Gulf & South East Asia and PIO/OCI are requested to obtain detailed information on fees, for courses available at the University Departments/affiliated Colleges/Institutes before confirming the admission, from the respective Departments/ Colleges/Institutes.
12 College seat will be allotted on first come first serve basis. It is mandatory for the student to accept the same.
13 Once the seat (branch) is allotted, no changes will be allowed under any circumstances.
14 In any circumstances, fees, once paid at the International Centre, are not refundable.
15 All foreign students from Non-English speaking countries have to produce English Proficiency Test Certificate.
16 All the Foreign Nationals, Children of Indians Working in Gulf & South East Asia and PIO/OCI must undergo their Medical Check-Up as per instructions.
17 Students will not work with any Institute/Firm during the period of study. In case they are approached, they will have to inform FRO.
18 No Indian can apply on behalf of an International student.(Agents will not be entertained)
19 Students having any discrepancy should clear it on time in order to get their Final Eligibility Letter.
20 It is the responsibility of the student to report to FRO within fourteen days of arrival and as and when necessary.
21 MIT WPUis not responsible for the lectures, internal assessments etc. that the student misses due to late admission, or for any other reason.

1.Introduction

Merit scholarships are proposed to reward and motivate the meritorious students with financial assistance based on their academic performance, the performance in proposed National Level tests and based on MIT – WPU internal tests (UGPET & PGPET) for the A.Y.2021-22.

The categories of Merit Scholarships are detailed below.

(a) Dr Vishwanath Karad Merit Scholarship AY 2021-22: –

This scholarship provides 100% fee waiver for the entire duration of the program to the top 5% meritorious students, based on the approved intake of each program subject to the fulfilment of conditions mentioned under respective policy.

(b) MIT-WPU Merit Scholarship AY 2021-22: –

This scholarship is based on the merit of the students and applicable to the first year of the program[s] only. In this Merit Scholarship, there are 4 categories of Scholarships namely 1) 100% fee waiver for 3% of the intake, 2) 75% fee waiver for 5% of the intake, 3) 50% fee waiver for 7% of the intake and 4) 25% fee waiver for 10% of the intake prescribed under that policy.

(c) Scholarship to Rank Holders AY 2021-22 : –

This scholarship is awarded to the 1st and 2nd rank holders of the select programs every year based on their performance in MITWPU annual examinations as mentioned in Point No.4. This scholarship is applicable to the eligible students form Second year onwards for any given program.

(d) Scholarships to Elite Sportsperson AY 2021-22: –

This scholarship is awarded to deserving sports persons based on their participation/winning the prizes at National/International recognized sports competitions/events.

(e) Scholarship Awarded to Wards of MIT-WPU/ MAEER’s Staff Members: –

(f) Other Scholarships: –

The criteria for awarding the scholarships for various programs and categories are given in the subsequent paragraphs.

2. Scholarship Name: Dr Vishwanath Karad Merit Scholarship 2021-22.

  • This scholarship provides 100% fee waiver for the entire duration of the program subject to the fulfilment of the below-mentioned conditions by the student and the conditions amended from time to time by the University.

  • Number of scholarships to be awarded is 5% of the approved intake for the respective program.

  • The Scholarship shall be awarded to eligible students on First Come-First Serve basis.

(a) The Terms and Conditions to award “Dr Vishwanath Karad Merit Scholarship”: –

  • Scholarship is not given in cash but adjusted against Fees

  • Scholarship would continue subject to the following conditions.

Academic Performance: –

To continue this Scholarship for the total duration of the program, the student should maintain a minimum CGPA of 8 and above throughout all trimesters of every year with no backlog in any subject/ Program and no trimester break.

Attendance: –

The student must maintain a minimum attendance of 80% per trimester after catering for all exigencies including illness, sports and any other requirement.

Discipline: –

The student must maintain good conduct, behavior, and discipline as per the disciplinary norms of the University. Any violations of University disciplinary norms and the student is issued a written warning/memo will lead to forfeit of scholarship immediately for ongoing as well as subsequent years.

  • In case of cancellation of admission, the scholarship would stand ‘null & void’ and the student must pay back the total fee waiver given to him/her by the University till the time of Cancellation of Admission. The Original Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, Transcript, and any other documents submitted will be returned only after the clearance of the due by the student.

3. Scholarship Name: MIT-WPU Merit Scholarships 2021-

(i) Terms and Conditions MIT-WPU Merit Scholarship: –

  • This Scholarship is applicable to only for the First-Year Under-Graduate programs.

  • Scholarship is given as a percentage of Total Fees.

  • Scholarship is given, in all cases, in percentage of Total Fees.

  • Scholarship is not given in cash but adjusted in the fees.

  • In case of cancellation of admission, the scholarship would stand ‘null & void’ and the student must pay back the total fee waiver given to him/her by the University till the time of Cancellation of Admission. The Original Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, Transcript, and any other document submitted will be returned only after the clearance of the due by the student.

  • Scholarship will be awarded subject to academic performance and good conduct and behavior of the recipient in the said academic year.

(ii) For First Year – M. Tech. Engineering:

Note: –

1. During working hours, all first year M.Tech. Students will be considered for ‘on campus job’ as per MIT-WPU Policy.

2. It is applicable only to first year M.Tech. Students and will be effective only after receiving complete fees for the First Year.

* MIT-WPU stipend is over and above stipend as per AICTE norms.

(iii) M. Pharm – For First Year Pharmaceutical Chemistry Programs

Note: –

1. During working hours, all first year M. Pharm Students will be considered for ‘on campus job’ as per MIT-WPU Policy. (on campus viz., teaching assignments, research associate)

2. It is applicable to only first year M. Pharm Students and will be effective only after receiving complete fees for the First Year.

* MIT-WPU stipend is over and above stipend as per AICTE norms.

4. Scholarship to Rank Holders: –

This scholarship is awarded to the rank holders of UG and PG programs every year who secure 1st and 2nd ranks in respective MIT-WPU annual examinations. This Scholarship will be awarded to eligible students from second year onwards and not applicable to the students who are already availing Dr Vishwanadh Karad 100% Merit Scholarship and to those who are availing any type of stipend. The first topper is eligible for 50% and the second topper is eligible for 25% scholarship.

These rankers from each program would be selected as follows,

  • For each given program, while going into second year or every subsequent year; a comprehensive merit list would be drawn considering the entire strength of progressing students under that program.

  • Number of eligible students for this category are selected for given program by multiplying the number of divisions by 2 when placed in descending order of their merit in CGPA.

  • Out of the above number, the first half number of students would be awarded 50% and second half number of students would be awarded 25% scholarship.

Explanation:

  • B Tech Computer Science & Engineering has 420 students i.e. equal to 420/60=7 divisions. Therefore, assuming all the students move ahead, out of the comprehensive merit list of 420 students, 7*2=14 top students would be selected for this scholarship.

  • Out of these 14 students, first 07 would be eligible for 50% scholarship and next 07 would be eligible for 25% scholarship. In case there are more than one eligible student with the same CGPA, then the selection of the student will be based on a) Total Marks of the student in 3 trimesters of respective academic year b) Average of Percentage of Attendance of the student in all 3 trimesters of the respective academic year.

For all programs like B.Des. where intake is only 20, 30 or 40 and if the strength moved ahead from previous year happens to be less than that, the scholarships shall be awarded as follows;

5. Scholarships to Elite Sportsman: –

  • Any student(s) who participates / wins a medal at west zone inter university, all India inter university, national or international level, while representing MIT-WPU or playing for any govt. sponsored/ Govt. recognized official sports organization [IOA, BCCI, AIU etc.]; in any nationally/ internationally recognized sporting event; in individual or team sports; would be eligible for following scholarship; only in the year he/ she wins the medal.

  • Separate concessions (in ₹ Indian Rupees) in fees will be applicable as follows depending upon type of Event / Level of competition and medals earned.

i. All India Inter-University Level

ii. State Inter-University Level (West Zone)

Note: An individual or team winning at state and All India level would be eligible for any one concession (whichever is higher).

6. Scholarship Awarded to Wards of MIT-WPU/ MAEER’s Staff Members:

All the students who are wards (children) of faculty / staff of MIT- WPU are offered scholarship on fees under the following conditions.

  • The faculty / staff is in continuous employment of any institute / college/ University under MAEER for 3 completed years of service by the time of Admission.

  • If the faculty/ staff leaves the organization due to termination/resignation or any other reason, the applicable fees for that year without scholarship shall be payable in full.

  • For claiming this scholarship, the student must obtain minimum 60% marks, in the qualifying examination.

  • The amount of scholarship is based on the gross salary of the employee. The scholarship as a percentage of fees is given below: –

  • The scholarship would be applicable for the entire duration of the program admitted- in.

** The student should get selected and admitted through MIT-WPU admission scrutiny process.

$ The student progresses in the next level without any break / backlog.

7. Other Scholarships: –

  • Any student who completes graduation from any institute/ college/ university under MAEER and takes admission in MIT-WPU for PG, would be eligible for scholarship of 10% of fees provided he/ she has scored minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination. Applicable for first year only.

  • The candidates admitted directly through AICTE under PMSSS, will have to pay International study tour cost component, either at the time of admission or before the tour, if he/ she wishes to go for international study tour. This international study tour shall be completely optional for students admitted under the PMSSS quota.
    Also, the candidate shall apply for online scholarship under the said scheme and shall be granted the scholarship/ fee concession only for the amount that is equal to the difference between total fee and the amount reimbursed from AICTE which shall be applicable for the entire duration of the program.

  • Wards of personnel working in or retired from Defense Services / Para-military services would be given 25% Scholarship for Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO’s), 15% for Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO’s) and 10% for Senior Commissioned Officers upto the rank of Lt. Col. (SCO’s). Applicable for first year only./p>

  • Students with 40% and higher disability will be given scholarship up to 40% of fees depending upon disability and it must be certified by a medical authority specified by the government. (For disability certificate format, please refer to Appendix ‘A’). UGC has approved 3% reservation in admission for differently abled students.

  • Scholarship/ Fee concession for GOI Students: (seats allocated through Central Seat Allocation Board for North Eastern States and Union Territories [CSAB NEUT] to be conducted by NIT)

    • Scholarship / Fee Concession equal to 50% amount of the total fee will be granted for the entire program duration subject to good behavior, discipline and passing in University examinations.

    • These students would not be eligible for any other scholarship other than that under sports or those covered under Para 4 & 5 above (Rank holder or Elite sportsman).

    • Provided that the student progresses in the next level without any break / backlog / failure.

    • Scholarship/ Fee concession for J & K Students: (For Candidates Seeking Admission under J & K Migrant Quota)

    • Only ‘One Seat’ per division of 60, will be allotted on the basis of merit to a candidate, eligible for seeking admission under J & K migrant quota, which would be over and above the regular approved intake for the said program.

    • Scholarship / Fee Concession equal to 50% amount of the fee will be granted for the entire program duration subject to good behavior, discipline and passing in University examinations.

    • These students would not be eligible for any other scholarship other than that under sports or those covered under Para 4 & 5 above (Rank holder or Elite sportsman).

8. No two scholarships would be given concurrently except the scholarship for the children of faculty / staff or for PPC programs. In any case, if the total amount of scholarship for any student exceeds 75% of fees; then the scholarship for children of faculty / staff will not be applicable concurrently.

9. Discipline – Student(s) must maintain good conduct, behavior, and discipline. Any disciplinary action/ written warning/ misconduct by any student holding any scholarship will lead to forfeiture of scholarship for ongoing and/or subsequent years subject to recommendations of the discipline committee.

This is to inform that Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, (MIT WPU / University) Pune has earmarked certain seats out of the approved intake for each program for admissions under University Discretionary Quota.

Students with required academic/ co-curricular/ extra co-curricular credentials with respect to the concerned program of study will be considered for admission under University Discretionary Quota seats. The University will also consider deserving nominations from Industry / Social Sector Organisation/ Eminent Academicians. The admission will be done at the discretion of the University and any application / nomination does not guarantee admission.

There will be different Fees Structure for admissions under this quota. All decisions taken by the University regarding the Discretionary Quota is final.

We would like the parents / aspirants to note that MIT WPU is neither associated with any such party nor does an arrangement of any kind exist with any third party for admissions to MIT WPU.  We, as a university follows Value Based Universal Education and strongly discourage such malpractices.

WE REQUEST ALL THE PARENTS / ASIPIRING STUDENTS TO NOTE THAT ALL ADMISSIONS TO MIT WPU ARE DIRECTLY HANDLED THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY IN THE MANNER AS NOTIFIED BY THE UNIVERSITY.
