Team Skytroopers Secures Second Place at Aerospanza Competition 2026

Team Skytroopers from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), secured Second Place at the Aerospanza Competition 2026, organised by SRM University.

The competition challenged participating teams to develop a conceptual UAV solution for flood reconnaissance and rescue operations within a 14-day timeline, providing students with an opportunity to apply engineering principles to a real-world disaster management challenge.

The competition comprised three rounds:

• Mission Proposal
• Design & Simulation
• Technical Presentation, Design Defence & Q&A

Team Skytroopers comprised Yuvvraj Koparde, Aryan Rahul Joshi, Rohan Rajdeo Kewat and Vedang Pasalkar, who demonstrated technical competence, innovation, teamwork and problem-solving skills throughout the competition.

Prof. Dr. Deepak Hujare, Program Director, Department of Mechanical Engineering, congratulated the team on its achievement and appreciated the guidance and contribution of their Faculty Advisor, Dr. Pralhad Pesode.

The achievement highlights the students’ ability to apply classroom knowledge to complex engineering challenges and reflects the Department of Mechanical Engineering’s emphasis on experiential learning, innovation and application-oriented engineering.
