MIT-WPU AIChE Chem-E-Car Team Secures Top Ranks at SRC 2026–27

The MIT-WPU AIChE Chem-E-Car Team has delivered an outstanding performance at the Student Regional Conference (SRC) 2026–27, bringing multiple accolades to MIT World Peace University, Pune, and securing its place on the international stage.

The team achieved the following national-level honours:

• AIR 1 : Chem-E-Car Competition: Current Carriers
• AIR 3 : Chem-E-Car Competition: Zn & Tonic
• AIR 2 : Chem-E-Car Poster Competition

These achievements reflect the team’s strong technical capabilities, innovation, teamwork and commitment to developing practical engineering solutions. The Chem-E-Car competition challenges students to design and build a car powered by a chemical energy source, requiring them to apply concepts from chemical engineering, chemistry, design and problem-solving in an interdisciplinary setting.

The MIT-WPU team was represented by Ommar Patel, Abdut Taiyeb Bharmal, Aaron Lopes, Kavya Patel, Chaitanya Jadhav, Asmi Dalvi, Sifa Sayyed, Prudhviraj Ramisetty, Aryaman Ursal, Tanvi Chaudhari, Shravan Hambar, Smera Shete, Paaras Naik, Ishita Joshi and Janhavi Modak.

With this remarkable performance at SRC 2026–27, MIT-WPU has qualified for ASC 2026 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, where the team will represent India at the international level.

The achievement is a testament to MIT-WPU’s emphasis on experiential learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation and application-oriented education, empowering students to take their ideas and technical skills to national and global platforms.
