MIT-WPU School of Law Inaugurates Upgraded Free Legal Aid Clinic

The School of Law at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, inaugurated its Upgraded Free Legal Aid Clinic on 30 August 2025, reaffirming the University's commitment to promoting access to justice, legal awareness, and experiential legal education.
The Free Legal Aid Clinic has consistently served as a platform for extending legal assistance and awareness to underprivileged sections of society while providing law students with valuable practical exposure to the legal profession. The upgraded facility features enhanced infrastructure, greater student participation, and strengthened collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Pune, enabling it to deliver more effective legal aid services.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, and students. The event underscored the clinic's dual objective of offering free legal support to those in need while functioning as a live-learning platform where students can gain practical insights into legal practice and community service.
The programme's Guest of Honour, Smt. Sonal Patil, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Pune, graced the occasion and shared valuable insights on the importance of legal aid and access to justice. She was felicitated by Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Aghav, Dean, School of Law, MIT-WPU, marking the continued partnership between MIT-WPU and the legal services fraternity in advancing legal literacy and social responsibility.
