MIT-WPU Inaugurates Centre for Constitutional Law and Governance

The School of Law at MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, inaugurated the Centre for Constitutional Law and Governance on 4 September 2025 at Chanakya Hall, Saraswati Building. The event marked a significant academic milestone aimed at promoting constitutional awareness, research, and governance studies among students and scholars.

The programme commenced with the Semi-Final and Final Rounds of the Intra Quiz Competition 2025 on Constitutional Law, followed by the formal inaugural ceremony. In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Aghav, Dean, School of Law, encouraged students to actively engage in constitutional discourse and pursue academic excellence in the field of law.

The event featured insightful guest lectures by Adv. Archana More, Advocate, Pune District Court, and Adv. Rajendra Anbhule, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India. The speakers shared valuable perspectives on constitutional values, legal practice, and the evolving role of governance in contemporary India, inspiring students to deepen their understanding of constitutional law and its relevance in modern society.

A key highlight of the programme was the unveiling of the official logo and poster of the Centre for Constitutional Law and Governance, followed by the prize distribution ceremony for the Intra Quiz Competition 2025. The event concluded with the formal ribbon- cutting ceremony, marking the inauguration of the Centre as a dedicated platform for constitutional research, academic dialogue, and student engagement.

The establishment of the Centre reinforces MIT-WPU's commitment to strengthening legal education through research, experiential learning, and meaningful academic initiatives that nurture future legal professionals equipped to uphold constitutional values and democratic principles.
