Dr. Abhijeet Dhere

Bio
Dr. Abhijeet Dhere is an Assistant Professor of Law and the Program Director at the School of Law, MIT World Peace University. He brings over twelve years of teaching experience and a strong background in legal research, policy development, and public safety initiatives.
Dr. Dhere has designed and delivered courses in law, legal policy, and governance, emphasizing the connection between academic learning and practical societal impact. He actively engages students through workshops, seminars, and outreach programs that simplify complex legal and regulatory issues, fostering critical thinking and civic responsibility.
A proud alumnus of the University of Pune, he completed his undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies in Law, and is also an alumnus of the Hague Academy of International Law (2024). He has been actively involved with the WHO Legal Development Programme on Road Safety (India) from 2016 to 2019 and is a distinguished alumnus of the Global Road Safety Leadership Course conducted by the Global Road Safety Policy and Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit, USA.
Dr. Dhere has presented his research at national and international conferences, including the WHO-BIGRS workshop in Beijing, China, and the World Roads and Traffic Expo 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. At Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, he also oversees the National Service Scheme (NSS), where he has initiated programs to raise student awareness about road safety.
Through his teaching, research, and public engagement, Dr. Dhere is committed to promoting safer roads, responsible citizenship, and a practical understanding of law and governance.
