Controller of Examinations (COE)
Dr. Rahul Joshi joined the Department of Petroleum Engineering, in MIT Pune in July 2003. Before joining MIT, he worked as a geologist in various geological investigation projects. He served in AFCONS and TCE Consulting Engineers Ltd.
After joining MIT-WPU, he is involved in teaching a variety of courses such as Petroleum Exploration and Petroleum Geology, Petroleum Economics as well as Engineering Geology, Tunnels and Contract courses in Tunnel Engineering.
He has an expertise in subsurface geological mapping and its application to exploration of natural resources as well as shallow subsurface investigation. He is a Faculty Coordinator for the student chapter of Society of Petroleum Geophysicists, India since 2016. He is actively involved in activities of this chapter. During his tenure he has completed a couple of geological site investigation consultancy projects and petroleum exploration projects.
He holds a Ph.D. in Geology from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Throughout his distinguished tenure, Dr. Joshi has made significant contributions to the university, serving as the Head of the School of Petroleum Engineering. Currently, he holds the position of Head of Operations at the Centre for Subsea Engineering and Research, MIT WPU, Pune since November 2022. From 1st February 2024, he assumed the post of Controller of Examination, MIT WPU, Pune.
