Dr. Sarita Zele is a highly skilled engineering professional with vast experience in the high-volume manufacturing of solar cells, photovoltaic modules, and semiconductors. She presently serves as a Professor and Associate Director at MIT-WPU's department of Research and Development, spearheading research projects related to advanced materials in renewables, semiconductors, petrochemicals, and biopolymers. Dr. Zele holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's degree from IIT Bombay in Chemical Engineering.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Zele served as the General Manager of Technology at Waaree Energies, where she initiated collaborations with global companies, startups, and academia to develop the next generation of solar products with higher efficiency, lower costs, and sustainable raw materials. She also served as the Chief Technology Officer for IIT Bombay - NCPRE (National Center for Photovoltaic Research and Education), where she led research on the quality and performance of various module materials like EVA, backsheet, and silver paste.

Dr. Zele has published several research papers and has presented her work at various international conferences. Additionally, she established a commercial 'Field Performance Evaluation Service', which is now offered to several site owners, and increased awareness about NCPRE capabilities within the solar community. Dr. Zele's expertise and experience make her a valuable asset to any organization in the field of engineering and renewable energy.
