Visual Communication Design (B.Des)

Program Overview

‘Visual Communication Design (VC) deals with creating visual identities and branding for organizations that represent their outlook or philosophy. VC also deals with designing cover pages of books, magazines, posters, visuals to aid way-finding, typeface, animation, content for instructional design, game design, exhibition design etc. VC in the UI/UX domain deals with designing visuals for the websites or other digital applications such that they are coherent with the overall visual language/identity. VC also deals with evolving such identities created for organizations such that they are aligned with the organizational change/transition.’

Program Structure

  • Duration: Four Years, Full Time Program

  • Pattern: Trimester/Module System

  • Credit System: Choice based Credit Systems, 160+ Credits

  • Electives: Choice based Design Electives followed by Professional Electives

  • Series of Design Innovation Projects

  • Series of Design Research Projects

  • Design Industry internships

  • Interdisciplinary Collaborative Design Project

  • One week of Rural Immersion Program (RuIP) for exposure to grass-root issues and enabling social innovation

  • National Study Tours which include visits to Industries, Industrial Exhibitions, Research Laboratories, Research Organizations as well as Institutes of National and International repute.
