With a legacy of four decades behind it, the MIT-WPU Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the foremost centers of chemical engineering within the whole of India. Founded to meet the rising demand for Chemical Engineers in the country, it has produced a competent and talented workforce for over forty years. The state of the art laboratories along with a highly qualified academic staff ensure that the MIT-WPU School of Engineering excels at research, something the burgeoning Chemical Industry sorely needs.
There are presently more than seven titles being currently researched at the School with grants from major universities including the Savitribai Phule University, BCUD amongst others. Our updated syllabus and numerous industry visits ensure that we remain abreast with the latest developments within the field of Chemical Engineering and that ensures the quality of our graduates. With an emphasis of the overall development of our students coupled with an excellent infrastructure and faculty, we will continue to produce the finest Chemical Engineers and engage in innovative research for the near future.

The Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT WPU offers UG, PG and Ph.D. programs in Chemical Engineering. The programs are designed to give students diverse and in-depth knowledge covering all aspects of chemical engineering.

The Department of Chemical Engineering located in the E wing is in the North – South direction and thus has excellent sunlight and air circulation along with excellent acoustics. All class rooms are provided with LCD projectors, PC with internet, white board, overhead projector, podium, and elevated platform for teacher or instructor.
Chemovision is the annual industry institute interaction conclave is organised at MIT-WPU, Pune. To provide the young chemical engineers with a platform to interact, showcase and exchange their ideas with fellow chemical engineers and learn about the developments in the industry.
