We are thrilled to share our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Murthy Chavali, Dr. Bharat Kale and Dr. Shvetank Bhatt who have been featured in this year’s Stanford University rankings list of top 2% of scientists in the world. This global recognition makes them one of the proud members of the fifty-eight scientists team from Pune that have been conferred with the same honor so far.

Stanford University is one of the most reputed and leading research institutions in the world. Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists list is a prestigious global ranking that identifies the most influential and impactful researchers worldwide based on their citation metrics. This citation metric is determined by the impact of a research article, its author, or the publication by counting how many times the work has been cited by other works.

The list of these scientists is compiled annually by a team of Stanford University scientists and is considered a highly respected indicator of scholarly impact worldwide.

About Prof. Dr. Techn. Murthy Chavali

With an experience of thirty years of research, twenty-three years in teaching, and six years in the industry, Prof. Dr. Techn. Murthy Chavali, currently holds the position of Dean of Research at MIT-WPU. He has worked as a Distinguished Professor of Analytical Chemistry and Nanotechnology and was the Dean (Research) and Professor (Chemistry) at Alliance University, Bengaluru, India.

Prof. Dr. Chavali holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry (1990, ANU, India), an M.Sc. (Tech.) degree in Chemistry (1994, JNTUH, India), and a Ph.D. in Tech., in Analytical Chemistry (2000, TUWIEN, Austria). His expertise has been further honed through post-doctoral fellowships in the USA, Japan (as JSPS and VBL Fellow), and Taiwan (NSC Fellow).

Prof. Dr. Techn. Murthy Chavali has made huge contributions in the fields of analytical chemistry, sensors, nanomaterials, nanotechnology, etc., and have been recognized with several research felicitations, awards, fellowships, and commendations both nationally and internationally.

About Dr. Bharat Kale

Dr. Bharat Kale currently holds the position of an Emeritus Scientist and Director of Material Science, Center of Excellence at MIT World Peace University. Prior to MIT-WPU he worked as a Director and Director General of C-MET, Emeritus Scientist at CMET Pune, and Technical Director at SPEL Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Kale holds a Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D) in Chemistry and Material Science from National Chemical Laboratory(NCL) and has around twenty-eight patents, and collaborations (both national and international) on his name. He has also published more than three hundred research papers in international journals.

He is an expert in nanocrystalline materials, photonics, photocatalysis, solar cells, thermoelectric solar cells, Li-ion batteries, hydrogen generation from semiconductors, quantum dots in glasses, polymers, etc. He has also contributed to the research on magnetic materials, supercapacitor materials, hydrogen storage materials, fuel cell materials, etc.

About Dr. Shvetank Bhatt

With around fourteen years of experience in Research and Teaching and around four years in the Industry, Dr. Shvetank Bhatt currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the School of Science and Technology, MIT-WPU. Before this, he worked as a Faculty at BITS(Pilani), Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences(Bengaluru) and Amity University(Gwalior). He also worked with companies like Ranbaxy Research Laboratories Ltd., Micro Therapeutic Research Labs, and Smart Analyst India Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Bhatt holds a B. Pharm degree(2004, University of Rajasthan, India), an M. Pharm degree in Pharmacology(2006, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, India), and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences(2015, BITS Pilani, Pilani, India). He has published more than ninety publications, six books, and twenty-seven book chapters. He has also presented his work at major conferences of national and international repute.

Dr. Shvetank Bhatt has made huge contributions in the fields of Neuropharmacology, particularly in Depression, Anxiety, Alzheimer's disease and other CNS disorders. He worked on standardization of various animal models of depression and co-morbid anxiety disorder where he focused on the role of neuro-degeneration process and intracellular signal transduction pathways.
