Programme Overview
Over the last century, a massive amount of data on oil and gas exploration and production has been generated. Oil companies gain a competitive advantage by identifying, collecting, storing, and analyzing this massive amount of data. As a result, the industry is looking for engineers who are knowledgeable in not only Petroleum Engineering but also Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. These multi-skilled petroleum engineers are critical in streamlining systems in the oil and gas industry's downstream, midstream, and upstream sectors.
The B. Tech Petroleum Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) at MIT-WPU is a specially designed course that provides students with not only the fundamentals of petroleum engineering but also a solid foundation in Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Students can work as subsurface data engineers, production data analysts, petroleum data analysts, and petroleum data consultants, among other things.
