This requires knowledge & skills especially in the areas of Political management, Constituency development & management, Elections management, International relations, Political processes, Political systems, Political economy, Public Policy, Constitution, Five Tier Structure of Government etc. This program prepares you for careers in Politics.

Program Objectives


MA in Political Leadership and Government is a unique program where in first year comprises campus based classroom learning, field visits and study tours. Second year comprises different kinds of internships and attachments. The objective is to offer a blend of classroom teaching & practical exposure enabling young aspirants realize their leadership potential in Politics, viz.

  • To become trained Political Leaders and understand the dynamics of Indian Politics

  • To learn to manage Election Campaign, learn techniques of Constituency Management.

  • To understand Functions of Government – be it Judiciary or Bureaucracy

  • To understand the Ministries, their role & responsibilities, Members of Parliament from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha

  • To know the process of drafting & presenting a Bill in the Parliament / Assembly

  • To understand the process of Budget preparation

  • To understand the role of Planning Commission
