MIT IADC Student Chapter

The School of Petroleum was awarded with the first international IADC student chapter on 23rd of September 2019. With the presence of international student chapter of IADC, we will be receiving many opportunities to represent our department and showcase the strength that we have.

MIT SPE student chapter is excited to announce the SPE WEEK from 7 th September to 12 th September 2020
The MIT SPE student chapter, established in 1988, is one of the oldest most active chapters in India with 200+ active members and with activities planned throughout the year that not only student centric but also challenge them to broaden their horizon through various competitions. MIT SPE student chapter has been awarded with Outstanding Student Chapter award by SPE International in the years 2014 and 2015 and Gold Standard award on numerous occasions. Most recently the MIT SPE Student chapter was awarded with Student Chapter Excellence Award for the year 2019-20..

Webinar – “Post Pandemic Challenge and Road Ahead for the Drilling Industry and the Future Petroleum Engineers”

IADC MIT Student Chapter had organized a webinar on “Post Pandemic Challenge and Road Ahead for the Drilling Industry and the Future Petroleum Engineers” on 10th May 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the first webinar since the establishment of the IADC student chapter at MIT Pune.

We had Mr. Mike DuBose (Vice President- International Development at IADC) as chief guest for the webinar. Along with him, we had Mr. Hisham Zebian (Vice President- Eastern Hemisphere at IADC) and Mr. Lars Nydahl JØrgensen (Regional Director at IADC), Mr. Arun Karle (Director, Askara Group), Joachim Van der Meulen (Director, VR) and dignitaries from ONGC including Mr. N.C. Pandey, Mr. Aniruddha Patnaik, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Sara, Mr. Milap Goud, Mr. Ratan Chakraborty, and alumni of MIT Pune along with teachers and students of our department.
