About Dr. Chandrakant Pandav :

International Experience:

    • Have been WHO & UNICEF Consultant on Iodine Deficiency Disorders since 1983. Nearly 24 years experience as an Advisor/Consultant WHO and UNICEF

    • Consultant to over fifty (50) countries of WHO/UNICEF, South Asia, Western Pacific, Middle East and African countries at National, Regional and Global level, for over forty countries, in the last 25 years.

    • Founder Member of International Council for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders* (ICCIDD)

    • Regional Co-ordinator for South Asia of International Council for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders since 1985 to till date (2008) i.e. nearly 23 years.

Awards and Honours :

    • 1. First recipient of Prof. V. Ramalingaswami Prize for the year 1976 for being the Best Intern of the Institute from amongst those posted at the Comprehensive Rural Health Services Project, Ballabgarh, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

    • 2. Recipient of Shri Mohan Lal Wig Medal for the year 1982 for being the “Best Postgraduate Student in Clinical Research”, AIIMS, New Delhi.

    • 3. Recipient of the Dr. V.N. Patwardhan Prize of ICMR for the year 1984, for outstanding contributions in research on Environmental Iodine Deficiency.

    • 4. Recipient Best Teacher prize at the Training Course (PEG Course) on “Prevention and control of Endemic Goitre and Cretinism, Brussels, Belgium, 1990

    • 5. Recipient of First Roberta Labelle Award (Runner Up) for “Excellence in Research in Health Economics” at the Annual International Clinical Epidemiology Network (INCLEN) Meeting, Bali, Indonesia, January, 1992.

    • 6. Recipient M.K. Seshadri Prize in the field of “Practice of Community Medicine” {of Indian Council of Medical Research – (ICMR)}, 2002.

    • 7. Dr. Pandav has been conferred Rashtriya Ratan Award for Excellence in Medical Sciences by International Study Circle (ISC) New Delhi on 25th July 2006 at New Delhi.

    • 8. Dr. Pandav has been conferred Pillar of Hindustani Society Award was given to Dr. C.S. Pandav, Community Medicine by TACCI, 25th February, 2007 at Mumbai.

    • 9. Dr. C.S. Pandav has been conferred Certificate of Appreciation and JT Dunn Distinguished Achievement Award by the International Council for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders during Annual Board Meeting of ICCIDD in February, 2007 at Manila, Philippines.

    • 10. Dr. Pandav has been conferred Rashtrapati Scout / Guide Award by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India the 11th July, 2007 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
