The Mirchi Thunder Run was organized by Radio Mirchi on 21st July 2018, and it was quite an experience and we from MIT, School of management wanted to understand all of it! The event occurred at World Pride and saw a large participation from the students of BBA(EM) and BBA(CA) of the MIT-WPU Faculty of management (UG) program. We volunteered from MIT School of management and it was quite an experience for us. Simply put, it gave us the experience and provide us with practical knowledge which couldn’t be obtained from academic study.
Thunder Run is an obstacle marathon which means that in addition to being a marathon, it also includes numerous includes hurdles along the way. Along with this serious obstacle course, there was also a ‘fun’ obstacle course for those looking for quirky and slightly humorous activities. As students of professional management, it provided us with invaluable knowledge and experience. We had a blast on the grounds though, because of the awesome sound systems and many RJ’s present there! It didn’t require much work but it was enough to make some of us sweat. It really made us feel as much as athletes as those who participated in the actual race! The rain too provided us with respite and gave us some time away from the sun and also helped ensure the event ended with the best of vibes.
The organizers did most of the work but we volunteers were not too far behind in the work done. It was such fun that we wouldn’t mind doing this again sometime! Overall the event was a success , for both personal and professional reasons. As for us, we got enough of an adrenaline rush to volunteer in upcoming events and eventually, come up with an event of our own for MIT-WPU!
