“School & College level competitions bring out the artist inside us. Such competitions have helped me to build an artist within me. That is why every student must use this stage to nurture their artistic values. If we practice by recognizing our capability & spending maximum time for Riyaaz & practice, then one can get success in the field of Cultural Music.” Said Nupur Daithankar, an actress, who was the chief guest of Sangeet Bharti & Nrutya Bharti, a state level inter-collegiate classical competition organized on the 27th & 28th of December 2018 by Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University’s Faculty of Management (UG).
On Day 1, the Nrutya Bharti competition was organized. About 37 participants showcased their talent from all over the state performing Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Satiriya and Manipuri. It was a massive battle of all classical dance forms. It amused the judges, faculty members, and the audience, making it tough for the judges Mrs. Seema Limaye & Mrs. Sonal Nagpure to decide the winner. Gauri Barate won the first prize, while Shreya Shinde and Isha Kulkarni secured the second and third position respectively.
On Day 2, the Sangeet Bharti competition was organized. About 34 participants participated in two categories, Classical & Semi-Classical, from all over the state. Classical Sangeet included Khyal, Gayan and Semi-Classical Sangeet included Tappa, Dadara, Thumari & Natya Sangeet. This event was supported by Mr. Sachin Rajopadhye on the Tabla and Mr. Lalit Aphale on the Harmonium. Judge Mrs. Bhakti Pilankar Surve, faculty members, and the audience were mesmerized by the breath-taking voices of all the participants. In the Classical category, Saurabh Pandhre bagged the first prize, and Sheetal Gadre & Meeta Dandekar got the second and third prize respectively. In the Semi-Classical category, Sheetal Gadre bagged the first prize, Meeta Dandekar and Sharia Shinde got the second prize & third prize respectively.
Day 2 of Nrutya Bharti & Sangeet Bharti 2018 was followed by prize distribution. On the dias was the chief guest Nupur Daithankar along with, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. R.M. Chitnis, Mazhar Shaikh of Prasanna Holidays, Mr. Rahul Kale from Bafna Motors, Sachin Rajopadhyay, Mrs. Bhakti Pilankar Surve, Prof. Kalyani Belsare from the organizing committee, Lalit Aafale, Pand many more. The winners of Nrutya Bharti & Sangeet Bharti were given cash prizes of Rs. 5000, 3000, 1500 along with a trophy and a state level inter-collegiate certificate. All the volunteers and the staff members played a crucial role in making this event a great success!
