The National Tour for BBA Department was taken to the largest city of Madhya Pradesh, Indore. The main aim of the tour was to introduce the students to the practices of the institution of IIM, Indore. Apart from that, the students were taken to different renowned industries which would help them understand the functioning of the modern organization.
The National tour started on the evening of 5th November, when the students departed from Pune. We reached Effotel, a 3 star hotel of Indore at around 10 am on the 6th of November. Day 1 of our tour consisted of guest lectures by professors from different renowned management institutes of Indore. We had Prof. Manisha Shukla, Prof Arindam Saha, Dr. Priti Bakshi and Prof. Puja Khushwaha who were the guest lecturers for the day. The topics of these interactive sessions were related to the current happenings in the field of HR, Finance and Marketing. The speakers appreciated active participation from the students and encouraged their candor regarding the different topics.
Day 2 was the day that all the students were eagerly waiting for. We visited the autonomous business school IIM, Indore. IIM Indore is the sixth addition to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) family of premiere management schools all over India. Our trip to IIM Indore was led by Mr. Pranav Dubey who is the placement in charge at the institute. We visited various places of the institution like the hostels, classrooms, gyms and the library. Apart from that, we also had lunch at the Institute Mess. The second part of the day consisted of the industry visit to Mahindra and Co., where we witnessed the systematic working of a company, starting from production of products till the distribution and sales.
Day 3 consisted of the remaining industrial visits to Saanchi milk factory and Amul India outlet. Through these visits, the students got an idea of the complex working system of such large organizations. By looking at the way an organization works, and how the coordination and cooperation of all the staff is required in completion of a task, even if it is the simplest one, students understood the importance of team work and dedication.
All in all, the entire National Tour was a great success, as every student and faculty from MIT-WPU School of Management for BBA Studies took back with them many valuable lessons.
