MIT-WPU- Faculty of Engineering – Dept. of Computer Engineering conducted Faculty Development Programme on Design and Analysis of Algorithms for 1 Week starting 18th Dec 2017, in association with CSI & SPPU under QIP.
SPPU syllabus is a blend of concepts and advances using high end FOSS technologies. This faculty development programme is intended to provide opportunity for teachers employed in AICTE approved institutions for teaching and upgrading their knowledge in the area of Design and Analysis of Algorithms. Courses are designed to understand and solve real life problems along with serving the needs of the industry. The FDP, “Design and Analysis of Algorithms” is designed to learn and understand the fundamentals and comprehensive research aspects of Algorithms. The FDP programme created an awareness in participants for the need & applications of the subject offering them a 360 degree view of its applicability. The participants were also introduced to modern teaching aids, interactive sessions and quizzes that provide innovative practical sessions with research aspect for problem solving.
TH FDP programme was well designed factoring suggestions from the leadership at MIT-WPU Computer Engineering Department and their eminent Advisory Board comprising National & International level Academicians. The sessions were addressed by knowledgeable Speakers who are stalwarts from Industry and Academia like- IIT-Allahabad, IBM, Harbinger and Pune University.
The FDP programme proved to be an enriching experience for all participating Professors as it covered topics like- Fundamentals of Algorithms , Framework for Algorithm Analysis, Divide and Conquer Strategy, Dynamic Programming, Greedy Strategy , Complexity Theory , Backtracking Technique, Branch and Bound, Approximation Algorithms, Innovative Teaching Methodologies for design and analysis of Algorithms, Hands-on Sessions on above topics with mini project implementation, and Everyday quiz based online assessments using Moodle.
