This Saturday saw the inaugural class of the year 2018, for the MIT-WPU Faculty of Management MBA program! The guest speakers called for this event were Mr Sudish Panicker (MD and Head BNY, Mellon International Operations (India)), Mr Rajiv Mitra (MD, Govind Milk and Milk Products) and Mr Vinit Teredesai (CFO, KPIT Technologies Ltd). These are true heavyweights in the world of commerce and they were there to inform the eager students of MBA about the world they are about to enter!

The ceremony started at 1100 hours sharp with the registration of the MBA students. They were then entertained for a few minuets while the guests and other dignitaries assembled on stage in the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium. After the inaugural ceremony the students were treated to a speech by Prof Dr Kalyan Swaroop (Associate Dean, Faculty of Management, MIT-WPU) and then by Prof Dr Sayalee Gankar (Dean, Faculty of Management, MIT-WPU). The students heard in rapt attention as they were informed of their future with MIT and how we would do our utmost to prepare them for the world.

Shri Rahul Karad (Executive resident, MIT-WPU) and Prof Dr Vishwanath Karad (Founder) gave their speeches extolling the students to perform to the best of their ability and not forget that honesty and hard work are the benchmarks they ought to follow.

The guests then gave speeches where they informed the students of the ground reality within commercial enterprises and what kind of graduates they are all looking to work with. The qualities they expanded upon were heard by the students with a seriousness that speaks volumes about their dedication and maturity. The applause all the guests got was genuine and heartfelt. prof D P Apte( Registrar, MIT-WPU) gave the address to the students reminding them of the road ahead along with what they must accomplish in order to be recognized in the world at large. The national anthem was sung and the students left the auditorium with a renewed sense of vigour and pride!
