School of Computer Science, MIT-World Peace University had organized a guest lecture on the topic “Communication Skill and Personality Development “for the students of F. Y. B. Sc. (Computer Science) in Saraswati Vishwa Wing-B, Class Room No.104 on Friday,10th August 2018. The lecture was given by Dr. Arjun Jadhav, Associate Professor in the Department of English, Fergusson College, Pune.
Mr. Jayant Patil, Head of Computer Science felicitated Dr. Arjun Jadhav. Ms.Steffi Thomas, a student of S.Y.B.Sc.(Com. Sci.) introduced the speaker and topic of the lecture to the students. There were 120 F.Y.B.Sc.(Computer Science) students present for this lecture. Mr.Jayant Patil, Dr. C.H. Patil, Mr. Sameer Kakade, Mr. Nielsh Magar, Mrs. Archana Varade, Mrs. Deepali Sonawane, Ms. Smita Patil and Mrs. Varsha Ghule these staff members were also present. The guest lecture was conducted to provide the students with an insight of global exposure and understanding of various key concepts like Dedication, Self-confidence, Leadership skills, Positive attitude, Discipline, Enthusiasm, Hard work and the importance of communication in every sphere of our life. He explained the importance of having good leadership skills among students and conducted various activities in groups to explain the same. Effective communication is an important life skill that enables the students to connect with the people around them. Students got to know the importance of communication in the professional world. He suggested the ways to increase self-confidence and also develop communication skills by doing meditation and participating in different activities which will help to remove the stage fear. The lecture was interesting and gave all the students a great opportunity to learn many things in regards to developing a creative mindset, speaking fluent English and focusing on the future.
Afterward ,there was an interactive session, where he invited questions and responded to them in a lively and humorous manner. The session ended with a vote of thanks that was given by Ms. Diksha Labhade, a student of F.Y.B.Sc(Computer Science).
