8th of December 2018 was the day filled with zeal and passion and spirit of togetherness of the students, the faculty members, and the parents: it was the FOM (UG) CARNIVAL: MOM AND DAD ON CAMPUS.
An event, of its first kind, received a huge response from the parents and students. The programme was inaugurated in the hands of Prin. Nandkumar Nikam, Former President, Principal Forum, Maharashtra. The Registrar of MIT WPU, Retd. Grp. Capt. D.P. Apte also graced the occasion with his presence. The idea was appreciated by the guests and congratulated all the efforts that students had taken for the event. While addressing the gathering, Dr. R. M. Chitnis, Dean of FOM (UG) and Provost, MIT WPU explained the importance of such extra-curricular activities in students’ lives and promised to always encourage students in the same. Dr. Anjali Sane, Deputy Dean, FOM (UG) also showed great admiration for the students and acknowledged their various talents.
The campus was well decorated with colorful strings and streamers. In this carnival, different student clubs showcased their varied talents by the way of food stalls, music stalls, amazing games, some great performances, and many other fun-filled activities. Every club had taken extra efforts to set up different games and stalls to make the carnival even more entertaining. The Dance Club showcased their talent by performing a fun-filled mashup performance whereas the Drama Club entertained everyone with their street play. The performances of the music club also amazed the gathering. A small version of students’ writings of the writers’ club in the form of a magazine was also unveiled in the hands of the honorable guests.
Seeing the enthusiasm of our students, the other college students could not hold themselves back and joined the carnival with equal zeal. There were different performances by other students of the college as well. Some of the teachers also performed and enjoyed the carnival.
In all, it was a fun-filled day for everyone. The spirit of togetherness could be witnessed on the campus that day. The programme was a great success because of the enthusiastic participation of all the students, teachers and parents. Prof. Pradnya Gaikwad was the overall coordinator of the programme. Prof. Pallavi Adya and other staff members assisted her in the overall planning and execution of the programme.
