All the first year students marked the beginning of the new and exciting chapter of their lives, as the new entrants of Faculty of Management- UG, MIT World Peace University were gathered for the Induction program 2019.
The event took place at the prestigious Vivekananda hall, MIT WPU campus on 3 July, 2019. The students were welcomed with a kit including a pendrive, course planner, rulebook, diary and other necessary stationery. An hour later a pack audience, both parents and wards waited for the ceremonious morning. The programme was divided into two parts, the first a formal part followed by the informal event.
As per the tradition of MIT WPU, the program began with the World Peace Prayer and the felicitation of all the eminent guests. The event was graced by eminent speakers from various fields: 1. Md Satavisha Natu, Deputy Director of MCCIA, 2. Mr Dattatray Nimbolkar, VP France Praj Industry, 3. Delivery Head of IBM Mr Vijay Mishra 4. Mr Abhijit Bhog, Managing Director of Pratisad Communications and 5. Honorable Madan Sundar Das of ISCON.
It was in the presence of respectable Executive President of MIT WPU, Mr. Rahul V Karad, Vice Chancellor of MIT WPU, Prof. Dr. Parasuraman, Registrar, MIT WPU, Prof D. P. Apte, Provost, Prof. Dr. R. M. Chitnis and Dean of FOM UG, Dr. Kalyan Swarup, that the grand opening of the academic year 2019-20 was witnessed by all the new entrants and their proud parents. All the dignitaries and honourable guests shared their expertise and encouraged the students with their inspirational speeches to look forward to the three years as their life’s most important years. The alumni of MIT SOM and MIT WPU had also graced the occasion to give their valuable feedbacks about the university. With this, the first part of the programme ended with Pasaydan.
In the post lunch session, the students were briefed about the code of conduct and rules and regulations to be followed in MIT WPU by the Dean, FOM-UG, Dr. Kalyan Swarup. An inspirational speech by Dr. R M Chitnis motivated every student present in the audience. The programme came to an end with the teaching and non teaching staff introducing themselves. This broke the final ice between the students and the staff. The highlight of the ceremony being the turnout of the parents in fantastic numbers, increasing their belief in the college. The students dispersed and everyone looked forward to the new beginning of their academic year with a new outlook.
The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Prasad Pathak and Prof. Pradnya Gaikwad with the support of the entire team (both the Teaching and Non-teaching staff) of MITWPU Faculty of Management (UG Programmes). Prof. Gautam Bapat anchored the programme and Dr. Anjali Sane, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Management (UG Programmes) proposed Vote of Thanks.
