Programme Overview


Master of Science (Statistics) is two years Full Time Program. This program is designed to develop student’s knowledge of identifying and applying major statistical tools. The program focuses on algorithms, designs and development to give solutions to real life problems.

Eligibility


B.Sc. with Statistics as a compulsory with minimum 50% Marks (45% Marks aggregate in case of candidate backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to MH state only.)

Program Orientation


The degree requires a solid mathematical background, with equal attention given to practical math like Linear algebra, and more advanced subjects like Real Analysis.
The program also covers the design side of statistics including subjects like sampling and Design of Experiment.
A number of job opportunities are available in the finance domain so actuarial science is one of the elective.
The student will gain the knowledge essential for success as a statistical professional and develop the necessary skills to meet modern business demands for statistical models, inventory and data mining
Students undergo a continuous assessment every trimester and following pedagogy methods are used: Mini Project development, Problem-solving approach, Participative learning, discussions, algorithm, Program writing, experiential learning through practical problem-solving, assignment, PowerPoint presentation.
