Programme Overview


The School of Pharmacy offers M. Pharm courses in three specializations in the areas of pharmaceutical science (Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry). These courses are useful for candidates who wish to develop a career in the field of academics and research. Students under the guidance of their allotted guide/s choose the recent topics of research. The school follows an antiplagiarism policy and encourages original research work to be carried out by faculty and students. With higher qualification a large number of avenues are open for a challenging career in Pharmaceutical industries in several niche areas, including research, regulatory affairs, new formulation development, marketing, clinical project management and administration. An aspirant with experience can move up the ladder to occupy senior positions in pharmaceutical companies, getting good pay and perks.

Programme Structure


The course of study for M. Pharm shall extend over a period of four semesters (two academic years) . The curricula and syllabi for the program shall be prescribed from time to time by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. The second year (Semester III & IV) involves dissertation work under the supervision of a guide from the school. Research methodology and biostatistics, Journal club and co-curricular activities are covered in the third semester.

Duration: Two Years, Full time programme.

Pattern: Semester, Four Semesters

Credit System:Choice based credit system.

  • Pharmaceutics: 15 seats

  • Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance: 15 seats

  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry: :09 seats

Fee Structure:Rs. 2,10,000/- per year

Eligibility


M. Pharm (Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry):

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates:

  • The candidate should be an Indian National

  • Passed Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from any All India Council for Technical Education or Pharmacy Council of India or Central or State; Government approved institution, with at least 55% marks (at least 50% marks in case of Backward Class category and Persons with Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);

  • Obtained Valid Non Zero Positive Score in Graduates Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) conducted by All India Council for Technical Education;

For sponsored candidates, minimum of two years of full time work experience in a registered firm/ company/ industry/ educational and/ or research institute/ any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought
