MIT-WPU : Induction Report 2018

Like every year, the academic year 2018 commenced with a grand INDUCTION Program. The eminent guests from diverse fields graced the function with their presence and addressed and inspired our new entrants of BBA,BBA(IB),BBA(CA)and BBA (EM) with their words of wisdom.

The eminent guests were:

  1. Mr. Giresh Kulkarni, Owner, Investment Worldwide, Mumbai –  In his address, Mr. Giresh Kulkarni emphasized the importance of Event Management programme and stated rightly that it is an emerging industry that every other industry depends upon.
  1. Mr. Mandar Gothoskar, Cloud Building Leader – Infrastructure Services Delivery, IBM, Pune. –Mr. Gothoskar urged students to keep on learning and apply the learning in their practical lives.
  1. Dr. Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor – SSSV, Indore –  Dr. Dhar, with the expertise in the field of Higher education gave the ‘Success Mantra’ to the students, in which he discussed 15 important ‘P’s’ with students.
  1. Bal Govind Prabhu, ISKCON, Pune – Mr. Prabhu talked about the importance of developing Spiritual Quotient (SQ) along with developing Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ).

It was truly an enlightening and inspirational experience for all the students, their parents as well as the staff , as they got an opportunity to listen to the stalwarts of diverse fields.

MIT-WPU : Induction Report 2017-18

Come June and the MIT-World Peace University (MIT-WPU) was all geared up for the new batch to take on the academic session 2017-18. Like every year it was a fantastic affair planned by the staff and students, a successful joint effort.
On 5th July, 2017 at 10.00 a.m we had students enthusiastically lining up along with eager parents to walk the steps of Swami Vivekananda Hall. An hour later a pack audience, both parents and wards waited for the ceremonious morning. The programme was divided into two parts, the first a formal part followed by the informal event.

The books like Know Your India and Autobiographies of Steve Jobs and Mahatma Gandhi- My Experiments With Truth were distributed to the students along with bag.

We had been fortunate enough to be backed by Hon. Prof. Dr. V.D. Karad –President, MIT-WPU, Pune, Hon. Mr. Rahul V. Karad- Executive President, MIT-WPU, Pune, Prof. Dr. Jay Gore – Interim-Vice Chancellor, MIT-WPU, Pune, Prof. (Gr. Capt.) D. P. Apte – Registrar, MIT-WPU, Pune who were present for the Induction Programmme along with the guests Hon. Rajyogini Brahmakumari Nalini Didiji, Incharge, Brahmakumari Centre, Dr. William Goldstein, Dean, Global Development- Maharishi University of Management, USA, Mr. Shashikant Kurbetti, Vice President – HR, Enerrgia SKYi Developers, Pune, Mr. Rajiv Singh, Senior Manager, IBM- Pune and Dr. R. M. Chitnis , Dean- Faculty of Management (UG), MIT-WPU, Pune, took the dais on sharp 11.00 a.m. and the anchor Prof. Gautam Bapat took on the proceedings to welcome the new entrants and the parents.

The World Peace Prayer illuminated the hall to give a perfect glow. Life was brought in by Dr. R. M. Chitnis with his encouraging and powerful speech bringing instant applause from the students and parents. No stone was left unturned with perfect detailing. Hon. Prof. Dr. V.D. Karad –President, MIT-WPU, Pune, Hon. Mr. Rahul V. Karad- Executive President, MIT-WPU, Pune, Prof. Dr. Jay Gore – Interim-Vice Chancellor, MIT-WPU, Pune and Prof. (Gr. Capt.) D. P. Apte – Registrar, MIT-WPU, Pune addressed the gathering with motivational and inspirational words.

Our Guests had wonderful words and citations to give the extra boost to the new entrants, who looked a bit dazed but were put at complete ease by them. They also motivated the new entrants to explore the opportunities which they get in the college life. The Guest with their words of wisdom, asked the students to urge themselves a little more than the usual to come out as complete winners.

Hon.Prof. Dr. Jay Gore – Interim-Vice Chancellor, MIT-WPU, Pune gave the Oath of Discipline at MIT-WPU.

With this the first part of the programme ended with Pasaydan.

In the second part of the programme Dr. R. M. Chitnis informed new students about the rules and regulations of MIT-WPU and expectations from students and the staff.

The programme came to an end with the teaching and non-teaching staff introducing themselves. This broke the final ice between the students and the staff. The highlight of the ceremony being the turnout of the parents in fantastic numbers, increasing their belief in the college.

ENTHUSIA : “REACH OUT AND EXPLORE”


Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT-WPU (Faculty of Management-UG) had organized an Inter-collegiate event – Enthusia ’ 2017 : Season I on 23rd and 24th Feb, 2018. The college has been organizing Enthusia successfully twice a year since last 6 years. This is the 7th Year of Enthusia, where students from Junior & Senior College registered and participated. More than 45 colleges participated in this fest. The overall winner was Symbiosis College .

The Valedictory Function was presided over By Chief Guest –a Renowned Singer Mr. Adinath Mangeshkar. Our honorable Dean Dr. R.M. Chitnis presided over the function.

Report – Sports Fiesta, 2018


“Champions keep playing until they get it right.”

Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT-WPU (Faculty of Management) had organized an Inter-collegiate event – Sports Fiesta from 20th to 24th Feb, 2018. The college has been organizing Sports Fiesta successfully since last 8 years. This is the 9th Year of Sports Fiesta. Students from Junior & Senior College registered for this event and participated. More than 55 colleges participated in this fest.
Sports Fiesta is a purely Sports oriented event introduced solely to bring together all the young athletes throughout the State. Sports Fiesta offers a genuine platform at the inter-collegiate level to all the athletes who wish to showcase their talent and skills.

Opening Ceremony on 20th Feb 2018

For Opening Ceremony Chief Guest Mr. Sunder Ayyar & Former Indian Lawn Tennis Player Mrs Radhika Tulpule were present.

      • In Football 22 Colleges Participated and the Finals were played between MIT-WPU FOM-UG & PICT College. Winner in Inter-College Football match was MIT-WPU FOM-UG. Best Player was awarded To Mr. Anchit Abraham of MIT-WPU FOM-UG

      • In Basketball (MEN) 11 Colleges participated and the Finals were played between MIT-WPU FOM-UG students & Kaveri College students. The Winner in Basketball category was MIT-WPU FOM-UG. The Best player was awarded to Mr. Shubham Yadav of MIT-WPU FOM-UG.

      • In Basketball (for WOMEN) 6 Colleges participated and the Finals were played between St. Miras College & DES Law College. The Winner in Basketball (for WOMEN) was St Miras. The Best player was awarded to Miss Suyesha Shetty of St Miras.

      • In Badminton 61 Colleges Participated

          • In Men’s Category Final played between Kunal Waghmare & Narendra Gogawale. The Winner in Badminton was Mr. Narendra Gogawale of Sanghavi College

          • In Women’s Category the Finals were played between Ms Ketaki Gunthe & Sweta Ray. The Winner in Badminton was Ms Sweta Ray of ISBM College.

      • In Table Tennis Singles 39 Colleges were Participated

          • In Men’s Category the Finals were played between Mr Dhanajay Barve & Prasad Burande. The winner in Table Tennis Singleswas Mr Dhananjay Burande of CACPE.

          • In Women’s Category the Finals were played between Ms Shubhada Chondenkar & Ms Vedika Bhende. The winner in Table Tennis Singles was Ms Vedika Bhende Cummins

 

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 24th Feb 2018. We got a very positive response from our Sponsors for the event. The Valedictory and Prize Distribution Ceremony was presided over By Former Indian Badminton Player Mr Nikhil Kanetkar. Our Honorable Dean Dr. R.M. Chitnis presided over the function.

Nrutya Bharti : Preserving the cultural heritage of India


The MIT-WPU School of Management for Undergraduate Studies organizes an Intercollegiate event called “Nrutya Bharti ” each year aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of India. Indian cultural heritage refers to the Indian way of Life, Indian languages, religions, forms of classical music, architecture, food and last but not the least the many Indian Dance forms, which completely differs with the customs and traditions of different Indian regions, states and other countries of the world.

The Indian dance culture is often labeled as an amalgamation of several cultures, which spans across Indian subcontinent and includes traditions that are several million years old.

There are a variety of Indian dance forms based on India’s ethnicity, diversity, and patriotism. The diverse forms of dance include various Classical Dances namely- Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Manipuri, Mohiniattam, Odissi, Satriya, Kathak, Kathakali to name a few and other Folk Dances and Patriotic Dances.

The main idea behind this event is:
    • To reach out to young Indians for promoting the culture of Indian Classical Dance among them

    • To identify the Indian classical dance talent from among the youth

    • To cultivate an interest in the Indian Classical Dance forms

Sangeet Bharti: Musical Voice of India


The MIT-WPU School of Management for Undergraduate Studies organises the auspicious event called “Sangeet Bharti” aimed at recognizing Musical Voice of India. Indian Music refers Indian way of life, Music in many Indian languages, Religions, and diverse Indian Classical Music forms. The myriad classical Indian music forms differ with the customs and traditions of different places, regions, states and other countries of the world.

Music in India comprises of a variety of forms like Classical, Semi Classical, Thumri, Natya Sangeet to mention a few. The Indian Classical & semi classical music culture is often labeled as an amalgamation of several cultures, which spans across Indian subcontinent and also includes traditions that are several million years old.

The main idea behind this event is:
    • To reach out to young Indians for promoting the culture of Indian Classical Music among them.

    • To identify the Indian classical Music talent from among the youth.

    • To cultivate an interest in Indian Classical Music forms.

   MITSOM (UG) ANNUAL GATHERING “SYNERGY 2018”- Report

MIT-WPU School of Management (UG) had organized its 13th Annual Social Gathering known as “SYNERGY 2018 on 22nd   and 23rd January 2018 for BBA, BBA-CA, BBA-IB, BCA and MCA students and staff members. It is a vast gathering of students, faculty and staff of MIT-WPU which showcases the hidden artistic talents of the students and also brings about an informal get-together of students and staff. It is a unique venture which celebrates a sense of unity and harmony among the MITSOM(UG) family.   Following are the salient features and highlights of the said programme:

The “Synergy” programme was celebrated for one week before formal function. Various Competitions like, Debate, One Minute Game, Hagethon, Mehendi, etc. Various special days are also celebrated by the students like Retro Day, Mismatch Day, Tie and Hat Day, T-Shirt Writing Day, Traditional Day etc. Students from each branch have participated actively in the Annual Social Gathering. Various activities were celebrated on a grand scale. The details of  the two days of happenings are summarized are below :

Monday, 22nd January 2018

Traditional Day and lunch programme was organized on account of the annual social celebrations from 11.00 am to 3.30 pm. All the students and staff came dressed in Traditional and festive cultural attire and actively took part in the day’s good cheer.

A cultural programme was organized on the same day from 5.00 pm to 8.30 pm. Students displayed their artistic talents through various programmes such as dance, solo singing, drama, fashion show etc. Enthusiastic response was given by the students for the same following good discipline.

‘Synergy 2018’ was a resounding success and was conducted efficiently. Students, faculty and staff gave their valuable contributions towards the triumphant completion of the Annual Social Gathering.

Tuesday, 23rd January 2018

The Formal Annual Function and Prize Distribution Ceremony were held on 23rd January 2018 from 10.15 am to 1.15 pm. The honorable guests invited for the said function were:

    • Chief Guest – Hon. Captn. Devanshu Rastogi, Battalion Commadant, National Defence Academy Pune.

    • Guest of Honor -Hon. Shri. Yazdi Marker, Area Manager, Jet Airways India Ltd. Maharashtra & Goa.

    • The programme commenced with the Grand Procession from Dnyaneshwar Hall to the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium. The formal function was started with a rendition of the World Peace Prayer.

Dr. R.M.Chitnis, Principal, warmly welcomed the guests and the audience. The student activity report and the annual report were read out by the General Secretary Mr. Akhilesh Gosavi.

Certificates and Prizes were then distributed to the students through the hands of the Chief Guests for the outstanding performance in Toppers and University Gold Medalist in Academics, Best Outgoing Students of each Course, NSS Best Volunteer, and Annual Gathering Competitions.

After the Prize Distribution Ceremony, Hon. Capt. Devanshu Rastogi, Chief Guest, and Shri. Yezdi Marker, Guest of Honor addressed and congratulated the students and praised them for their active participation. They urged the students to maintain a proportionate and rational balance between academic and other extra-curricular activities. They also guided the students about competencies required in any job. They further urged the students to consistently maintain a high degree of excellence and quality in all the activities that they undertake in life.

The Programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks by Prof. Hemant Bhise, Convenor – Synergy 2018 on behalf of MITSOM (UG) followed by the ‘Pasayadaan’-a Peace Prayer.

‘Synergy 2018’ was a resounding success and was conducted efficiently. Students, faculty, and staff gave their valuable contributions towards the triumphant completion of the Annual Social Gathering.
