Program Overview

It is a comprehensive two years full-time program in telecom Systems. This course explores telecom as a primary metaphor and mechanism for present market, policy, and economic issues. Top-down orientation relates networking technologies to organizational goals and needs. Data communications and Internet technologies supports market research. The Institute provides vigorous training to the students preparing them for varied organizational roles. The aim being to help students effectively manage projects and businesses within the capital-intensive telecom industry.
The international faculties conduct workshops on most contemporary topics. To name a few: Training on marketing Analytics, Business Intelligence, Marketing/MR/Media Planning, Channel Marketing, Data Analytics etc.

  • MOOCs– Integration with Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)

  • Interactive Classroom Sessions-The contents are delivered through Case Studies, Assignments, Quizzes and Presentations developed by the students under faculty guidance.

  • Course Handouts-Faculty members prepare course handout which comprises of Course Plan, Case Studies and Session plans. A copy of course handouts is provided to the student in the beginning of every semester.

  • Case Study Methodology-involves learning by doing and the development of decision-making analytical skills. Students gain confidence since it is “rehearsal for real-life problems”. This method encourages collaborative learning since students work in a group and give presentations. The Case Study Methodology helps to provide far greater exposure, sharpen analytical skills, develop multi-disciplinary skills and ability to think and reason rigorously.

  • Real-Time Academic Monitoring System (RAMS)– MIT-WPU SoM (PG) has a very rigorous and robust check on actual delivery of the sessions with the help of very unique real-time system. Faculty members allocated with courses submit a plan of conducting classes, evaluation and covering the case studies before the commencement of the semester.

  • Role Play-Role-play is an important tool to bring significant improvement in the analytical abilities, problem solving abilities and interacting and situation facing abilities.

  • Corporate Assignments and Live Projects-These projects provide vital practical inputs to the students in understanding the concept and its practical applicability in the industry.

  • Dynamic Curriculum-Up gradation of the Course structure, academic curriculum and examination process is a continuous process at MIT-WPU SoM (PG). A Board of studies meets regularly to finalize the course content at MIT-WPU SoM (PG). Program structure is designed under the guidance of core committee comprising of BOS members, eminent faculties from NUS Singapore, IIT Chicago, LSE UK, University of Dundee and Abertay University, Robert Gordon University UK, and faculties from IIM and IITs.

  • Guest Lecture – Present opportunities to converse with professionals not only from the IT and Telecom industry but also from various other fields

  • Workshops– Interactions with Guest Lecturers and Study workshops yields the much needed inputs for adding a value proposition to the portfolio of a student at School of Management (PG)

Program Structure

The two-year full time program of MBA-Telecom Management at the MIT-WPU School of Management of MIT-World Peace University follows a proven Academic Framework that strikes a balance between Theory and Practice to ensure intensive learning.

At the end of the two years students are adept at identifying practical problems and using time tested and emerging managerial techniques to arrive at the most appropriate solutions. The MBA-Telecom Management program will have a Trimester Pattern with total 6 Trimesters spread over 2 years. The program will be following guidelines given below-

  • Each Trimester will have Full Credit courses, Half Credit courses and specified certifications.

  • Trimester I and II will be common for all the students.

  • Trimester III onwards students will study the elective courses in Telecom and Marketing specialization.

  •  The program also includes Rural Immersion Program, Internship Program, National Study Tour, International Study Tour, Live Project(s) and WPU Peace courses.
