Rural Immersion Programme

Rural Immersion Program is an important aspect of WPU method to connect the new generation students with the rural society…the roots of the country. The program is planned to be executed preferably in and around Pune district as well as few places within the state of Maharashtra. Rural Immersion is applicable for all students across all streams under MIT-WPU. It is designed to expose students to rural realities. This unique concept is being implemented with the intention of sensitizing the budding Engineers, Administrators, Entrepreneurs, and Liberal Arts Aspirants to become a part of rural development through various activities in rural areas.

Rural Immersion Program uses the participatory method of Micro-Level Planning (MLP) with full engagement with the local people for the analysis of local problems. It enables the students to understand the local context and problems faced by various social and economic groups, their lifestyle and needs and inspires them to come up with groundbreaking solutions with the participation of the people.
