‘Vishwashanti Gurukul’ Inauguration of first phase

It took Dr. Karad and the famous Architect Shri Naren Kuwadekar from Mumbai, almost 6 months to put on paper his concept of architectural planning, design and the perception of “Gurukul” based on Saptswar, Saptrang and Saptrishi. The inauguration of the First Phase of “Vishwashanti Gurukul” at the auspicious hands of Bharat Ratna Smt. Lata Mangeshkar took place on Monday, 7th August 2006, in the presence of Smt. Krishna Kapoor, a symbol of Indian womanhood and under the Chairmanship of Dr. Vijay P. Bhatkar, the world famous Computer Scientist.


Established MIT School of Government (MITSOG)

MIT-SOG is a part of the MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions, Pune and is First of its kind Institute in India & Asia established in 2005. MITSOG was initiated by Shri. Rahul V. Karad with the vision of creating Ethical, Spirited and Committed Political Leadership for the country from the grassroots and from all walks of life. MIT-SOG participants are provided assignments, projects and workshops as a regular feature for up to a period of two months with Political Leaders & Political Party Offices.

The principle objective of this college is to provide undergraduate education in professional courses like Business Administration, International Business and Computer Applications. MAEER’s College of Arts, Commerce & Science

MAEER’s Arts, Commerce & Science College, Pune is a constituent unit of MAEER’s MIT Group established in 2004 and has completed over one decade of Academic Excellence. The College ensures holistic development of students by providing an ideal academic environment for need based as well as value based education. Establishment of MIT-College of Engineering

Established in 2001, MITCOE is a sister concern of MIT, Pune and has been the destination of choice for most aspiring engineers, not only from Maharashtra, but also from the rest of India. MITCOE has built the pedagogy of interactive teaching-learning methods and was among the few institutes, who were ISO certified. UNESCO Chair for Human Rights, Democracy, Tolerance and Peace at World Peace Centre, MAEER’s MIT, Pune

In appreciation of the work carried out by MAEER’s MIT, Pune-India under the banner World Peace Centre (Alandi), of championing the cause of promoting the ‘Value Based Universal Education System’ for spreading the message of Peace based on appropriate blending of Science, Technology, and Spirituality, UNESCO-Paris bestowed the World Peace Centre (Alandi) with UNESCO Chair for Human Rights, Democracy, Tolerance on 12th May 1998


Maharashtra Institute of Pharmacy (MIP), Pune

MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Pharmacy was established in 1997 and has an excellent academic track record depicted through University Examination results and co-curricular as well as extracurricular achievements. Establishment of World Peace Centre-at Alandi

Establishment of World Peace Centre-at Alandi in Quest of Universal Peace and Searching the Pathway for World Peace under the auspices of MAEER’s MIT, Pune, India, which was actually established on 1st December 1996 in the presence of all these delegates representing all the world
religions. All the global philosophers unanimously resolved and approved the proposal of establishing ‘World Peace Centre at Alandi, near Pune, Maharashtra-India’, which is the birth place of the Great Indian Philosopher Saint Shri Dnyaneshwara.


MAEER’s MIT Polytechnic, Pune

MAEER’s MIT Polytechnic [Formerly Sri Savitribai Phule Women’s Polytechnic, Pune] was established in the year 1995 in Pune. It created its own mark as an institute with highest passing percentage and students have topped the MSBTE Merit list as well. It is one of the first private Diploma institute to achieve the ISO certification. With the increasing demand by the male students, it duly became a co-ed institution in the year 2003.With the increasing demands, in 2008 it started working in two shifts.


Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER), Pune

MAEER’S MIT Pune, established, Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER) in the year 1995 at Talegaon Dabhade, near Pune-India. Establishment of Maharashtra Institute of Technology-MIT

This realization embarked the journey of MAEER’s – in 1983 with the establishment of Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT). On 24th June 1983, news announcements of the 9th Engineering College in Maharashtra offered ray of hope to many engineering aspirants. The News headlines flashed, “First Private Engineering College in the city of Pune after 125 long years under the name Maharashtra Institute of Technology-MIT, Pune.” -which still remains the flagship institute of the group.

The Opening Day: 5th August 1983

5th August 1983. The first bell, which rang at 7.00 in the morning, was a moment to rejoice in realisation of the dream and start of the Journey. Initially the Institute operated from seven class-rooms in Shivaji Maratha High School premises and had six branches viz. Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Civil (Construction), Polymer, Petroleum and Petrochemical with 240 admissions. Later, in the same year Dr. Suresh Ghaisas made the magnanimous offer of donating 16 ½ acres of his family land situated at Kothrud, Pune.

A Newspaper Article featuring a story on dearth of Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra- India, leading to the failure for bright students in getting admissions to Engineering colleges, which in turn resulted in depression and incidences of suicide. This situation became the driving force for Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad- an engineering Professor at Government college of Engineering (C.O.E.P-Pune) – to change this adverse situation into an opportunity of learning for young aspirants.
