Dr. Prakash Mohan Mainkar is the Director of Admissions and Associate Professor in Electronics & Communication Engineering at MIT-WPU. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Shivaji University in 2001, a Master's degree in Electronics (VLSI Design) in 2007, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) from RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur, India, in 2019.

In his capacity as Director of Admissions, Dr. Mainkar plays a crucial role in shaping the academic landscape. Alongside his teaching responsibilities, he actively contributes to various institute committees, focusing on the enhancement of laboratory infrastructure and curriculum development.

Dr. Mainkar is dedicated to bridging the gap between academia and industry. He consistently engages with industry professionals to identify employment opportunities for students and actively promotes international collaborations with universities. His role as an International Study Tour Coordinator has led him to universities in China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Nepal, fostering global connections for MIT-WPU. Over the past eight years, he has served as a National Study Tour Coordinator, organising visits to industries across India to provide students with valuable real-world insights into their coursework applications.
