Dr. Deependra Sharma

Dr. Deependra Sharma is the Professor and Dean of the School of Business at MIT-WPU. He brings twenty-two years of rich experience in academic administration, teaching, and research, complemented by a background in industrial marketing. His research interests encompass university and industry interface, diffusion of innovation, retail management, consumer behaviour, marketing research, entrepreneurship, and opinion leadership.

Dr. Sharma has earned certifications in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Wharton University of Pennsylvania and the University of Maryland, USA, respectively. His contributions include numerous research papers published in reputable journals listed in Emerald, Scopus, Era, Elsevier, and Springer. He serves as a reviewer for various management journals, including Emerald and Inderscience, and is an expert on the RDC panel of a State University. He holds a Ph.D. in a topic related to retail management and degrees in MBA (Marketing) and MA (Economics), with NET (Management) qualification.

Dr. Sharma is a member of the Directorate of International Affairs (OIA), contributing to curriculum development for foreign campuses of Amity, mentoring international students, and inviting speakers from top universities worldwide, including UCLA. He has led the course development team for Amity Mauritius, demonstrating his commitment to global education and collaboration.

As the Master of Ceremony for the Amity conference at Harvard University, Boston, Dr. Sharma showcased his leadership and communication skills on an international platform. Until December 2020 at AUH, Gurgaon, he served as the Programme Coordinator for the Ph.D. programme, supervising six research scholars in their thesis writing. His responsibilities extended to Academic Affairs, Training and Placement, Branding, MOOC, and Incubation Centre development activities.
