Dr. Shashikant C. Hajare is ‘Deputy Dean’ & ‘Professor’ at School of Law, MIT-WPU Pune. He has more than16 years of teaching experience since 2001. He is NET-JRF qualified (passed in 2002) and holds a Ph. D. Degree in ‘Constitutional Law’ (passed in November 2010). Before joining MIT-WPU, he worked as full-time faculty at Symbiosis Law School, Pune from 3 March 2003 to 16 August, 2018. He joined Symbiosis Law School , Pune on 3 March 2003 as Assistant Professor, promoted as Associate Professor with effect from 1 April, 2011 and further promoted as Professor and Director, Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad (16 December 2014 to 31 March, 2015). Subsequently, he continued as ‘Professor’ at Symbiosis Law School, Pune from 1 April 2015 to 16 August, 2018. Dr. Hajare was also a Ph. D. guide for Faculty of Law at Symbiosis International University and 3 Ph. D students have completed their doctoral studies under his supervision. During his teaching career, he has also held administrative positions like Vice-Principal and Principal In-charge of Symbiosis Law School, Pune and Acting Dean of Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International University (from Feb. ’06 to Jan. ’07). He was Member of the Board of Management (BOM) of the Symbiosis International University (from 2008 to 2010). He was also member of the Academic Council of Symbiosis International University, Pune from 22 March, 2017 to 16 August, 2018. He has been member of Academic Council of Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) since August 2011 & Member of Board of Studies (BOS) of Symbiosis Open University, Faculty of Commerce as law expert since November 2015. He has published many quality articles in reputed journals and he has also published a book on “The Law of Parliamentary Privileges in India: Problems and Prospects” published by Himalaya Publishing House in November, 2012. Dr. Shashikant Hajare has 3 international academic exposures (Sweden, Germany & Malaysia). He visited Orebro University in Sweden in April 2006 under the Faculty Exchange Programme and delivered lectures on Indian Constitutional Law. He has also visited Liebniz University, Hannover, Germany in November 2011 and delivered lecture on “Comparative Analysis of Constitutional Law in India and Germany”. He also presented paper in 11thASLI (Asian Law Institute) Conference held at University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 29-30 May, 2014 (Topic: Tradition-Modernity Polarities and Human Rights of Women: Tracking Judicial responses in India). He has received ‘Best Teacher’ award by SLS, Pune for 3 times. He has contributed as resource person in many conferences, seminars, moot courts & FDPs.
