I, Prof. Anagha M. Gupte have done M.Sc. in Statistics and M.A. in Economics with first class. I was selected by Maharashtra Public Service Commission stood first in the merit list and was posted at B. J. Medical College, Government Medical College at Pune. I worked there for 23 years, till September 2008. I taught statistics and epidemiology to undergraduate and post graduate students, guided the post graduate students for their dissertations for statistical analysis and was involved in research projects. To name few, 1) ‘Efficacy and feasibility of primary prevention of Low birth Weight’ – during June 2001 to May 2004 : Funded by UNICEF. 2) ‘Innovative way of teaching partographic principals to Birth Attendants in Pune district’ – during June 2001 to May 2005 – Funded by Government of India. 3) ‘Intervention of stopping of smokeless tobacco on out cone of pregnancy’ – during 2002 to 2004 – Funded by Government of India. 4) I worked as statistician for ‘Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme’ project during Oct 2003 to Dec 2004 at B. J. Medical College, Pune, a project by Government of Maharashtra. 5) ‘Vitamin A Survey. –Dist. Satara survey conducted by Indian Public Health Association in Feb 2002.
