Dr. Umesh Kisan Raut

Bio

Dr. Umesh Raut is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Technology at MIT-WPU, with over 23 years of teaching experience. His teaching philosophy centers on student-centric, outcome-based learning that combines strong theoretical foundations with practical and research-oriented exposure.

Motivated by a commitment to academic excellence and innovation, he engages students across UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs through mentoring and research guidance. As a recognized Ph.D. supervisor and researcher with publications, design patents, and a co-authored textbook, he actively contributes to research and innovation in computer engineering.

He is actively involved in extracurricular and institutional activities and serves as the Coordinator of the National Academic Immersion Program (NAIP), collaborating with institutions such as IITs and NITs, and aligning his efforts with MIT-WPU’s vision of excellence, holistic development, and societal impact.
