Bio
Dr. Minal P. Deshmukh is an accomplished academic and researcher with over 16 years of experience in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UDCT, Amaravati, and has made significant contributions to the field of biofuel production, environmental sustainability, and enhanced oil recovery. Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at MITWPU, Pune, Dr. Deshmukh has led groundbreaking research projects, including a DST-funded initiative on "Utilization of Nonedible Deoiled Cakes for Environmental Sustainability." Her work has resulted in the development of a DST lab, two process patents and numerous Scopus and SCI- indexed publications. Her expertise spans bioethanol production from agricultural waste, biogas synthesis, and innovative solutions for wastewater treatment. Dr. Deshmukh has filed multiple patents, including methods for oil spill removal and biofuel synthesis, and has presented her research at international conferences such as ICAWTM and CHEMCON. Dr. Deshmukh is proficient in simulation tools like HYSYS, Aspen Plus, and HTRI, and has actively participated in workshops and faculty development programs to bridge industry-academia gaps. Her interdisciplinary research integrates biochemical innovations with petroleum engineering, focusing on sustainable energy and environmental conservation. With a strong academic background and a passion for mentoring students, Dr. Deshmukh continues to inspire future engineers through her teaching and research endeavors.

Dr. Minal P. Deshmukh's research focuses on sustainable energy and environmental solutions, with expertise in :
- Biofuel Production : Innovative methods for synthesizing bioethanol and biogas from non-edible deoiled cakes, agricultural waste, and lignocellulosic biomass.
- Environmental Sustainability : Eco-friendly processes for wastewater treatment, oil spill remediation, and carbon sequestration using bio-adsorbents like water hyacinth.
- Waste Valorization : Utilization of industrial and agricultural byproducts for energy generation and organic fertilizer production.
- Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) : Green techniques such as bio-polymers (guar gum, xanthan gum) and nanoparticle applications for improved hydrocarbon recovery.
- Circular Economy : Integrated biorefinery approaches to convert waste into biofuels, biogas, and high-value chemicals while minimizing environmental impact.
Her interdisciplinary work bridges chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, and biotechnology to address global energy and sustainability challenges.
