Research Areas

Abdul Wasif A. Shaikh is having expertise in polymer synthesis and characterization with extensive experience in porous polymers and water soluble polymers. His current research is centred on the preparation of highly porous polymeric monoliths for various applications such as metal ion chelation etc. His research interest also focuses on concentrated emulsion, emulsion templating and synthesis of water soluble polymers for water treatment.

Abdul Wasif was a Post Doctorate Research Fellow, at University of Stuttgart Germany. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry, with Polymer Chemistry as specialization from CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. Post Ph.D., he also worked as Scientific Advisor at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune in a joint project with Defense Research and Development Organization, Pune. He also was involved in a joint research project with Proctor & Gamble, USA. He was awarded for delivering best results in polymer synthesis and kinetics, by P&G, USA. He also served as Manager, R&D, at Rishabh Metals and Chemicals, Mumbai.
