Alumni Meet Report- Feb 2019
Alumni Meet – Reconnect 2019, was conducted on 23rd February 2019 at MIT Campus. Indeed it was a successful event and experienced the presence of more than 300 alumni. The overwhelming response and the enthusiasm of alumni made the evening more memorable. One of the special features of this meet was, it was a combined meet of alumni of all four departments under MIT Group of Institutions, namely MIT School of Management, MIT School of Business, MIT DMSR and MIT CoE- CMSR.
Prof. Dr. Sayalee Gankar, Director MIT SOM, Dr. Mahesh Abale, HOD MIT DMSR, Dr. T.J. Vidyasagar, Academic Head, Prof. Ajay Nagre, Mrs. Aparna Dixit, Alumni Head MITSOM and Dr. Meenal Pendse, Alumni Head SOB were present on the dais.
As per tradition, contribution made by alumni towards strengthening the alumni association and also towards institutional development was recognised by the institute. Mr. Swapnil Narke, Alumni of MITSOM (MBA 2010-12 Batch), Mr. Ameya Pangarkar, Alumni of MITSOB (2012-14 Batch), Mr. Ojas Choudhary, Alumni of MIT DMSR (2016-18 Batch) and Mr. Girish Kiwade , Alumni of COE CMSR (Batch 2014-16) were felicitated during alumni meet, for their contribution towards institutional development activities.
Prof. Dr. Sayalee Gankar, in her address, discussed the importance of alumni for the institution and how they can contribute to the development of the institute. She also conveyed that they are the role model for the present batch student. She appealed the alumni to get involved in the alumni cell activities and support the present batch students. Dr. Sayalee Gankar also briefed about the success story of newly established MIT WPU. Dr. Mahesh Abale, HOD MIT DMSR, Dr. T.J. Vidyasagar, Academic Head, Prof. Ajay Nagre also addressed the alumni. Mrs. Aparna Dixit, Alumni Head MITSOM proposed a vote of thanks.
The alumni have gifted the memento as a token of appreciation for their presence. The formal event was followed by dinner. With a promise to celebrate this togetherness again the next year, everyone parted with the joy in their hearts and smiles on their faces.

Jyotirmay Bapat is a professional with a strong mix of Business and Technology experience. His experience spans across various roles viz: HR Consulting, ERP implementations, Solution Consulting, HR Outsourcing and Line HR.
Currently, he heads the HR technology function with Emirates NBD. The role focuses on new HR initiatives to automate processes. He also heads the HR technology transition for new Acquisitions for ENBD.
In his last assignment he was working as a Product specialist-HCM, ORACLE, APAC where he has done solutions consulting on Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, Fusion and Taleo to some of the renowned Banks and groups in India.
Prior to this he has worked as Group Head HR for Thermax Ltd., wherein he had hands on experience in human resource management. Mr. Bapat has been associated also with various HR Forums and contributes to thought leadership in the HCM Domain.
He is a Statistics (Hons) graduate with triple PG in Marketing, Systems and HR from Pune University. He is currently a research student on “Impact of Organization Culture on People, Process, Structure and Strategy during an M&A”

As Senior Strategist- Marketing at Persistent Systems, Pratyush heads the offshore arm of the corporate marketing team at Persistent. Pratyush’s role involves overseeing a team that formulates and implements creative marketing strategies which showcase the expertise and thought leadership of various business units across Persistent.
He also drives the Analyst Relations function and is responsible for driving conversations, with industry analysts and influencers, to highlight key service offerings, thought leadership and success stories.
He began his career with Persistent as an intern in 2008 and over the past 6 years has been working across various roles within the marketing team to set up functions like Branding, Demand Generation, Social Media, Digital Marketing &Events.
Pratyush holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering & an MBA in Marketing from Pune University. Outside of work, He is a photography enthusiast as well as an avid reader.

She has pursued her Graduation & Post Graduation in Computer Application from MITSOM.She joined Newton Software Pvt Ltd in 2012.
She has recently won All India Achievers Award in Delhi for Outstanding Contributions to Industrial Developments.
Her company offers products from Construction ERP’s to Manufacturing Visitor and Labor Management Systems.
Newton Software today branched out to more than 25 locations in India, UAE & US, and is also branching out in various other fields of customized software solutions to the corporate.
Priya manages a team of more than 25 sales executives and managers and has taken it upon herself to double their targets for the coming year.

SSameer has a wide experience wherein he worked for over 14 years in India & overseas across various industries like FMCG, BPO, Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Asset Management & Life Insurance in frontline & leadership functions for direct sales, channel sales, strategy, administration & business development.
He has a strong sales orientation and is extremely comfortable with numbers to be able decipher MIS, draw inferences, spot trends and make effective presentations. He did his MBA with marketing as his specialization.
Before joining Reliance Capital Life Insurance Company as Assistant Vice President – Premier Distribution, he was working at HSBC Asset Management (India) Pvt Ltd as Vice President and Regional Head. Sameer is a great professional guy with amazing channel management skills. He single-handedly and tirelessly had risen the mid-market segment channel at HSBC to greater heights.

Ruchira is a Human Resource specialist working as facilitator consultant in Human Resource Management and Diversity and Inclusion. She has a career spanning thirteen years, in which she has accomplished operational as well as leadership expertise in the area of Talent Acquisition, Management and Development, Business Partnering and Coaching.
She is a science graduate with a post-graduation degree in Human Resource from Pune University.
Having started her career with Thermax Ltd, it built a strong foundation for both HR processes as well as the people side of an Organization. She worked in Mumbai with Neoteric Informatique which provided perspective for a different sector and its nuances. Having worked with Personnel Forum as an HR consultant in the area of Talent Acquisition, Ruchira moved to Cummins where she grew rapidly across multiple roles such as Training, Six Sigma Black Belt, and HR Head for a Start-up Business Unit. The Cummins stint allowed for working across geographies, leading high visibility projects, heading the Women’s Affinity Group for India, and championing the Ethics Code of Conduct.
Mid of last year, Ruchira decided to pursue her entrepreneurial aspirations in the area of Learning and Development, and thus moved out of the Corporate. Currently she is a partner in an L&D firm, Gryphon Learning Center, which is a provider of learning solutions across a wide spectrum of requirements including soft skills, outbound trainings, sales etc.; alongside, also doing independent work in the area of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I).
She specializes in designing and implementing sensitization workshops which deal with D&I, Prevention of Sexual Harassment (P.O.S.H.) at the workplace; and applying Six Sigma methodology to Human Resource related aspects. Her work in the area of D&I spans across a variety of Organizations.

Amit started his career with ISMT group, Bangalore in the corporate restructuring department. Further, after working briefly with TAAL, Amit went ahead to work in the field of Investments where he thought lies his career and hence he moved as Assistant Manager in SAJAG SECURITIES Pune in the Mutual Fund Division.
In three years’ time Amit went ahead to Head the Investment Division and that’s when he was offered a job by DSP Merrill Lynch Mutual Fund as Regional head and he became the young achiever for DSPML for two years in succession. After working for three years with DSPML, Amit moved to Fidelity International as Mumbai Head. Amit and his team were awarded Best Team of the year in Fidelity International and also Outperformers for the NFO. Post Fidelity Amit joined the largest Insurance Company in the world then AIG International to head their East and West India business for Institutional and retail.
In 2009 Amit along with two other partners setup SAPIENT WEALTH ADVISORS and BROKERS Private Limited (SWAB), a boutique wealth advisory firm in Pune. The basic premise behind forming Sapient was to provide a focused, client-centric approach. This finds a reflection in the name itself. “Sapient”, as the dictionary describes, stands for profound judgment or collective wisdom.
SWAB, has been the recipient of a number of Awards and achievements in the 5 years of its existence. To name a few – CNBC TV 18 Award as the Best Performing Individual Financial Advisor (Cities Tier 2) West 2012 -2013, National Winner for SIP and Folios at Wealth Forum, AXIS Award for Highest AUM in Mid Fee Assets (2013-14). Currently Sapient manages over 800 Crores Assets Under Management and advises around 400 crores additional monies. Sapient today is the second largest Independent Financial advisory company in Pune and in the top 10 in India.
Amit also teaches wealth management in Symbiosis and is a Rotarian at Rotary Club of Hinjewadi. He also runs a Non-Profit organization called HUMRAHI which organizes musical shows with 22 musicians having a theme of “Mortal Men Immortal Melodies”.

Anoop is an Independent IT Consultant for Development, Marketing, and Enabler (HR, Training, and Legal) services. He has 14+ years of broad-spectrum IT experience. Product Engineering, Software Testing, GRC and Enterprise Controls Management, Business Development for IT Project, Process and Services engagement are his areas of interest.
. He has successfully completed several consultancy assignments (including training) in US, Middle-East, UK, South Africa and India and has been honored by the client.
Effective communication and technical authoring skills are some of the strengths of Anoop.
Product and services marketing, end-to-end management of web applications, web content and technical authoring, product testing, proposal and contract management, product training content development and delivery are his areas of expertise.
Anoop is a mechanical engineer with a degree in management with flying colors. Before starting his own venture he worked as a as a Software Engineer – Development & Quality at Zensar Technologies 1999 to 2001, Process Consultant at P&O Nedlloyd, Consultant at Standard Bank of South Africa. He then joined as Associate Consultant at TCS and from there had experience with two more companies.

He preferred to be an electronics engineer and joined MIT college. After doing engineering he had got the opportunity to do the MBA again from MITSOM. After MBA, He joined a company to set up the Electronics Weighing Scale Manufacturing operations in Goa state. It was all new things – New place, language, and culture.
He joined Tata Consultancy Services. He would say it was the right time shift to the software field. In TCS only he met with my co-founders Sunil and Sachin. Through TCS he had a chance to travel around the world. he had a stint in the UK and USA where he had a chance to work on some of the best software applications.
In 2006 he shifted to Infosys where he started to work on developing IT solutions and differentiated IT delivery options which can be used for multi-millionaire deals spanning multiple years. Some of the solutions are published at Infosys organization level as well some are applied for patents.
In 2010, we plunged into entrepreneurship journey and started MindChipps with the aim of providing IT solutions that would help solve business problems. Running a startup or any other business is not an easy task.
In 2012 MindChipps was with honored as “Best Promising Startup of Year” by Government of Maharashtra. In 2012 itself we launched our flagship product “CAdashboard”. CADashboard is a Communication, Collaboration and Compliance platform for CAs, CSs, legal professionals and SMEs in India. This product is now used by users from pan India. We are currently in discussion with few of VC firms for our funding needs for growth.

Rahul leads the Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE), Capgemini India’s unique consulting capability used for enabling transformation and change for clients who seek to articulate and address complex business problems.
Some current and past global clients Rahul has worked closely with include Asian Paints, John Deere, Mercedes Benz, Marico, Raymond, EnterCard, Schlumberger, Johnson and Johnson, Centrica, Amgen, IKEA, Coca Cola, GlaxoSmithKline, and Merrill Lynch.
Leveraging over 20 years of experience across diverse roles, he has a degree in Production Engineering from CRCE (Bombay University) and an MBA in finance from MIT School of Management.
After 3 years and gaining an appreciation for the role of IT in India’s growth story, he decided to move to a global IT stint by joining Satyam Computer Services Ltd. and the role resulted in he moving to New Jersey, USA for 3 years. The sales role matured into that of an Account Manager for one of Satyam’s key client relationships, Merrill Lynch. This resulted in a significant experience, working with global clients at Wall Street, NYC.
After a long stint at Satyam, he moved out to join outsourcing research and advisory firm in Pune. In 2010 he joined Capgemini and quickly climbed up the ladder to reach his current role of Director.
He has been appreciated with many awards like Best Relationship Management Outsourcing Partner (2002), Merrill Lynch Citizenship Award (2008) and Satyam School of Leadership.
Rahul enjoys reading diverse topics, an ardent movie buff, enjoys drawing, traveling and meeting new cultures and is currently learning to play the tabla.

Mr. Vishal Pande completed his graduation in Commerce from S.B. College Aurangabad. After graduation, he completed a bachelor’s degree in Dramatics as well in Journalism.
In 1995 he completed master’s degree in Mass Communication as well as journalism. After completing his MBA he was working with Bharat Forge. In 1993, he entered into construction field and constructed a tallest residential and commercial complex named as Pranav Plaza.
In 1995, he started with the trading and manufacturing firm, Swaroop Sangam and he has a tie-up with Bombay Dyeing. He has 2 franchises in Aurangabad one of Bombay Dyeing and Bata. In 2001, he started his new venture named as Sai Sagar Builders and Developers.
In 2014 he entered into entertainment field and started with the venture 6 Dimensions and Creations Pvt. Ltd.
In addition to this, he is a member of Badminton Association of Aurangabad and member Aurangabad Cricket Association. He is actively involved in various social activities like blood donation, tree plantation.

In addition to being a Director at Vignaharta Nagri Sahkari Patsanstha Limited, Pune, he also successfully completed Finance & Admin Head role for Tata Jagriti Yatra during 2009, 2010 & 2011. A Business Development professional with about 14 yrs of work experience touching almost all the segments of Business Development, Ninad’s profile includes the following tasks in brief – Business Development of IT Services Management, IT Support Management, Software Products & services, and Engineering services, key account management, new market development and handling all India Distribution Channel plus the international marketing for software products.
Ninad started his professional journey with WSL which he got through Campus Placement. He was asked to manage their sales for Engineering Software Products. Spending a few years at WSL, he worked with various organization/places before landing with IBM. At IBM was given the responsibilities to manage the EUS sales as Business Development Manager and was twice the recipient of the Bravo Award.
After IBM, joined Ninad Microsoft in Mumbai where for first 6 years he was responsible for sales of Enterprise Services in the capacity of Territory Development Manager and won various awards like Microsoft Gold Club Center of Excellence award, Star of Services Award – APAC, SMSG India Collaborators Award, Cross Team Collaboration award.
In October 2014, he got the responsibility to manage the Region for Premier Support Services which includes Responsibility to manage P&L across West Region for Premier Services. This comprises of managing Business, Delivery, and team of Technical Account Managers across India, West.

Rahul, the recipient of Best Outgoing Student Award from his batch of MBA, started his career with GE Countrywide in Sales and then moved to Training in GECIS for a couple of years then back to Sales in Pune for GEs auto department.
Post his MBA in Marketing from MITSOM in 2000 he did a course in HR from XLRI in 2010 and a course in Cyber Crime in 2012.
Post GE, he worked with EXL services in Operations for 3 years and HR for 2 years before the unit he took care of was acquired by WNS and then he continued to work with WNS for another year in HR helping in transition.
He then moved to Mumbai and joined Stream Global Services a company which now is a part of the larger Convergys family which is 13,000 employees in India and 1,29,000 across the globe. Rahul takes care of their Mumbai HR team and is responsible for around 4000 employees based out of 3 locations.

Shrinivas is certified management and Digital Marketing professional with over 9 years of experience in Brand Management, Marketing Communication, Insights and Trade Marketing.
He is currently working as a training Consultant with Dale Carnegie and is one of the most passionate trainer around.
He Worked with Videocon in the Corporate Brand and Marketing Communication Department for India-A operations. And then worked with Airtel as a Product Manager for Small and Medium Enterprise Segment for the South Hub of Airtel, He was also associated with Reliance Communications as an Asst Brand Manager for the Mah-Goa Circle and Launched Reliance BIG TV Successfully in Maharashtra & Goa. Later in 2009, the Corporate Brand Team of Reliance invited him to Join the Corporate Team and entered the Mecca of Reliance in the Business Head Quarter Tower of Dhiru Bhai Ambani Knowledge City. To have a Seat in the BHQ of Reliance would always remain one of his greatest achievements in life.
He was appointed as a Head of Brand for Mah-Goa Operations and successfully launched Brand Uninor in the region. His capabilities earned him the achievement of being the only brand manager of Telenor India to represent at the Global Telenor Brand Academy in the year 2010 and later in 2011 became MD of Telenor,
In 2012 he joined Vodafone India as a head of Brand in their Mah-Goa Circle and worked as Head of Brand, Marketing Communication & Insights at Vodafone India Limited, Mah-Goa Region.

A Production Engineer and a MBA with close to 12+ years of experience in domestic and international projects with diverse competencies in Corporate Banking, Credit Risk Management, Corporate Strategy & Planning, Global transitions, and KPO, Udaykumar is currently based in Irving – Texas.
Uday started his career in manufacturing sector as Trainee Engineer in Pune. After spending a year and a half in manufacturing industry he moved to the software industry. After a brief stint in Software marketing world, he moved on to do his MBA from MITSOM. He got campus placement and joined one of the largest private banks in their Corporate Banking division as Senior Credit Analyst. He spent 2 years in the banking world before moving on to IT industry. He joined Infosys in the year 2006 in Banking and Financial domain and worked for one of the largest Global Bank in Credit Risk Management area.
His work-profile till date includes managing transitions for various industries like Banking, Manufacturing, Emerging Markets across various functions (Finance and Accounting, Procurement, Helpdesk etc) for clients in Australia, US, Asia, and Europe. Uday has successfully transitioned over 100 FTEs in the last 2 years. Uday has been instrumental in conceptualizing ‘change Impact Analysis methodology’ in transition with the involvement of the client senior management team. It generated $0.5Mn cost saving for the client. He also has strategized harmonized global system processes in collaboration with client process owners that improved efficiency of global connect and resulted in $1.5Mn outsourcing benefit and led much knowledge sharing sessions/training on transitions with the involvement of high stakeholders from process/industry domains.
He has been honored with many awards like High-Performance Award (top 5% of organization strength) from CEO, Future Leader Club of the Organization, “Hall of Fame Award” in 2010 for significant contribution to transition team by leading complex transitions and brining highest customer satisfaction scores.
