Finally, the proud moment of the 6th Convocation Ceremony of MIT World Peace University was witnessed by over 5000 students. This year, the ceremonial event was celebrated on Saturday, 19th Oct '24 at Vishwa Sabha Mandap, World Peace Dome, Loni Kalbhor, Pune. On this delightful day, we celebrated not only the academic accomplishments of our graduates but also the core values that define our prestigious institution: integrity, innovation, and inclusivity.

MIT-WPU was founded by our Revered Founder, Dr. Prof. Vishwanath D. Karad with a vision of fostering a holistic educational environment. The university is dedicated to nurturing responsible global citizens equipped in all forms to address new-age contemporary challenges. Our mission emphasizes on creating knowledge that contributes to peace and prosperity, aligning with our founder's aspiration to cultivate leaders who embody compassion and ethical responsibility.

This year, we were honored to welcome our distinguished guest, Hon’ble Union Minister for Culture and Minister of Tourism, Shri. Gajendra Singh Shekhavat ji as the Chief Guest for this function. Also as part of the tradition, MIT-WPU conferred the Vidnyan Maharshi award to Hon'ble Dr. Krishnaswami VijayRaghavan, DAE Homi Bhabha Chair, Emeritus Professor, NCBS, Former Principal Scientific Adviser to the Govt. of India, Eminent Scientist. Apart from these, Prof Ram Charan, Renowned International Business Advisor and Author also graced the event as a Special Guest of Honour during the function. Other distinguished guests at the convocation included MIT WPU’s Founding President Prof. Dr Vishwanath D. Karad, Executive President of MIT-WPU Rahul Vishwanath Karad, Vice-Chancellor Dr R.M. Chitnis, Chief Academic Officer Dr Sanjay Kamtekar, Registrar Ganesh Pokale, and COE Rahul Joshi.

The Convocation being a momentous occasion, celebrated the achievements of our graduates and their transition into the next phase of their lives. This year the glorious event began at around 4:00 pm with the welcome formalities of all the dignitaries by our MIT-WPU team. Also, the key highlights of the event included:

• Conferment of degrees to 26 Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D)
• Presentation of degrees to around 5478 graduates from 160 programmes
• Recognition of 467 rankers for their outstanding academic achievements from all programs
• Distinguished awards for exemplary contributions in various fields
• Conferment of "MITWPU Vidnyan Maharshi Samman” to Dr. Krishnaswami VijayRaghavan, for his lifelong contributions to the field of science. The recognition included a certificate, an idol of Saraswati, and a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh.
• Felicitation of Special Guest of Honour Prof Ram Charan

The Chief Guest Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat addressed the graduating students by asking them to focus on continuous learning and contributing to society. Also, Dr. VijayRaghavan encouraged these students to gain a broader understanding of current environmental and financial problems and take the required steps to address them. Prof. Ram Charan also asked the passing out students to take up the golden opportunity to step into a growing economy and leverage their knowledge to achieve success.

Overall, the entire ceremony was quite eventful, infusing these passing out graduates with a sense of pride, confidence, joy and enthusiasm to begin their new journey. At MIT-WPU we wish these graduates to achieve success, lead a life full of integrity, be a beacon of light for society and live by the values they have learned during their entire association with MIT-WPU.
