The 7th edition of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024 has been announced. This event offers students an opportunity to engage in innovative problem-solving, addressing some of the most pressing challenges faced by the nation and the world.

The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a national initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, with support from the Innovation Cell and AICTE. Since its inception in 2017, SIH has grown to become the world’s largest open innovation model, bringing together students from across India to solve real-life problems through creativity, innovation, and technical expertise.

Key Features of SIH 2024

  • National Platform : SIH provides a nationwide platform where students can address real-world challenges posed by government bodies, industries, and NGOs.
  • Comprehensive Problem Statements : This year, 202 problem statements from various sectors will be available for students to solve, ranging from healthcare and agriculture to cybersecurity and space technology.
  • Holistic Development : The event emphasizes the overall development of students, enhancing their problem-solving, technical, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Industry Collaboration : Participants will work closely with industry experts, gaining insights into market needs and developing solutions with real-world applications.

MIT-WPU Participation in Smart India Hackathon

MIT-WPU has consistently demonstrated strong performance in the Smart India Hackathon over the years, with students showcasing their innovative talents:

MITWPU University Internal Round Details

MITWPU SIH(University internal) is scheduled on 31st of August 2024. In this internal round 300+ student’s teams participated and 100+ Industry and Alumni juries are invited for the SIH internal round. Out of these 30 teams will be selected to represent MIT WPU in the SIH next round.
