The School of Electronics & Communication Engineering at MIT-WPU encourages self learning through student’s activities, forums, and clubs. There are several events which are organized by students on regular basis. Our students regularly participate in different national and international level events and competitions:

National Study Tour


Industries Visited : ETV Bharat News Station, Epsilon Electronic Equipment & Components Pvt. Ltd., Astra Microwave Microwave Products Ltd.

Duration: 7/1/2019 to 12/1/2019

Location: Hyderabad(Telangana)

A National Tour was arranged by MIT-WPU for its SYECE students to the city of Hyderabad. Fifty six students of division C accompanied with four faculty members were scheduled to visit of Hyderabad from 7th of January to 12th January. The journey was filled with a lot of enthusiasm. The aim of the Industrial Visit was to emphasize practical knowledge in the field of Core Electronics. visits to various industries were helpful for students to find placement opportunities in such Industries . The students, as well as the teachers, enjoyed and visited global icon of places in Hyderabad like Char Minar, Lumbini Park, Salar Junj Museum, Ramo Ji Film city.

Location: Bangalore (Karnataka)

A National Tour was arranged by MIT-WPU for its SYECE students to the city of Bangalore. Sixty one students of division A accompanied with four faculty members were visited Hyderabad from 7th of January to 12th January. The trip was filled with a lot of enthusiasm. The objective of the Industrial Visit was to exposure to recent trends in industries to enhance practical knowledge. Students learned, how a machines controlling action can be done by using very basic electronic components from industrial visits. At IISC students learnt about the all the system configuration of parallel super computer. Students also visited to ISKCON Temple in Bangalore.

Industries Visited : Amtech Electronics, ISRO Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition, Amul Milk Dairy & IIM Visit

Location: Ahmedabad (Gujarat)

A group of second year students from School of Electronics & Communication Engineering, MITWPU, visited Ahmedabad (Gujarat) as a part of National Study Tour. Sixty two students of SY BTech Division along with four faculties were part of this activity. The visit was arranged from 7th January to 11thJanuary 2019. Objective of the visit was to make the students aware of various aspects of engineering education.

TEXEPHYR, Tesla, Techogenesis:

These are the national level, annual technical events organized by the students in our campus every year. Thousands of students from different colleges, Institutes and Universities across India participate in these events to showcase their talents.

ROBOCON

Every year, our students are the important stakeholders of MIT Robocon team, contribute a lot in electronics design, programming, communication and control. During Year 2017, our final year students, Anish Kshirsagar and Umang Joshi led Robocon Team of MIT and secured first runners-up position, bagged Mr. Mukesh Sharma – Silver Medal with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, an award for Best Aesthetic Robot, and Mathworks Special Award for Matlab Application

MERC

MIT-WPU – ECE Recreational Cultural Group (MERC) promotes the cultural activities at school level, providing opportunities to most of the students to participate. Every year, a grand program is organized by students to showcase their skills.

MASS

MIT-WPU – ECE Association for Study Skills (MASS) fosters creativity of among the students of the school by conducting the aptitude tests, drawing, painting and rangoli competitions, and other such events.

MARS

MIT-WPU – ECE Association for Recreational Sports (MARS) engages the students in sports activities at the school level. Matches for different sports/games are organized on routine basis to nurture the team spirit and vibrancy among the students.

IEEE Student Branch:

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) being one of the largest technical professional societies in the world with more than 423 thousand members, including more than 117 thousand student members. IEEE is instrumental for advancement of technology and for benefits to the humanity. It has 39 societies and 7 technical councils representing wide range of interests in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Computer and others. IEEE has developed more than 1300 standards and it publishes more than 200 transactions, journals and magazines. IEEE also organizes and sponsors conferences in the areas of focus. We have a vibrant IEEE Student Branch namely, MIT – IEEE Student Branch (MISB) which organizes various activities like seminars, workshops, competitions and related activities for the students.

IETE Forum:

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India’s leading recognized professional society devoted to the advancement of science, electronics, telecommunication and Information Technology. It serves more than 125 thousand members through various centres. We have established IETE Forum to promote technical creativity in the students.

Our students along with faculty members formed special interest groups in various emerging fields such as Internet of Things and others
