Program Overview


There is an ever-growing need for comprehensive technical education, research and consulting activities all around the sphere. Hence, demand for scholars will continue to climb in the country for many more decades to come. The overall objective of the Doctoral program at MIT-WPU is to recognize and provide solutions to problem of modern existence to the society, industry, and academia and even further to the Government. Special stress will be given on adoption of fitting technologies embedded with indigenous novelties. The long-term goal of MIT-WPU is playing a vigorous role in bringing to life the ambitions of the society through creation of leaders for the future. The doctoral program at MIT-WPU will seek to impart values, professional morals and above all the knowledge that would improve the individual’s competence to work for a better future.

At MIT WPU, the department has Centre of excellence for `Innovative Design and Construction Technologies, which is established in campus, with the building science department of the Politecnico De Milano of Italy. Program Objectives


  • Ph.D. program shall be of a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years.

  • Extension for maximum period of two years can be given.

  • The women candidates and persons with disability (more than 40% disability) may be allowed an additional relaxation of two years.

  • In addition, the women candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of Ph.D. for up to 240 days

  • Better career opportunities as compared to other students, due to high industry training component. Strong Placement Training and Support.

  • Highly qualified and motivated supervisors of national and international reputes
