BREAKING BOUNDARIES,
ELEVATING RESEARCH CULTURE

Centre for Women’s Studies and Development under Centre of Excellence (CoE), R&D department at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT-World Peace University, Pune. The purpose of this centre is to promote research and development, address women’s issues and comply with UGC guidelines, NIRF and NAAC accreditation requirements. Below outline the key aspects of the proposed Centre at the university.

Promoting Research and Development

The Women’s Centre will serve as a hub for National and International research projects on gender issues, women’s rights, violence and other related fields. It will encourage interdisciplinary studies, foster collaborations with national and international institutions and secure funding for research projects. The focus on gender-related research will not only enhance the university’s academic credibility but also contribute valuable insights for societal development.

Addressing Women’s Issues

The centre will provide a platform for addressing various challenges faced by women within the university and the broader community. This includes:

  • Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment: Implementing measures to ensure the safety and well-being of female students and staff.
  • Advocacy and Counseling: Offering counseling services, workshops, and seminars to raise awareness and advocate for women's rights.
  • Support Systems: Establishing support groups and networks for women facing academic, professional and personal challenges.

UGC Guidelines

The establishment of a Women’s Centre aligns with the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, which emphasize the need for institutional mechanisms to address gender issues. The centre will work towards implementing UGC mandates on gender sensitization and equality.

NAAC Accreditation

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) require institutions to demonstrate their commitment to gender equity and inclusion. Proposed Activities

  • Monthly Seminars and Workshops: To educate and empower women on various issues.
  • Research Grants: Provide funding and resources for gender-related research projects.
  • Counseling Services: Establish a dedicated team of counselors to support female students and staff.
