B.A. (Hons) English program focuses on expanding the students’ understanding of the English language. It includes the study of linguistics as well as different genres, styles and forms of literature. To provide an edge over other such programs, B.A.(Hons.) English at MIT WPU includes subjects like Academic Writing and Research Methodology, which encourages students to pursue research and publish research papers in linguistics as well as literature.

Programme Structure


The course duration for B. A (Hons.) English is three years programme based on the Choice Based Credit System and syllabus followed as per UGC guidelines. It is restructured into a trimester pattern with components of peace subjects offered as part of the MIT World Peace University Program.
The curriculum includes core subjects, compulsory ability enhancement courses, skill enhancement courses, Generic Electives and Discipline Specific courses. This makes it a unique programme, the only kind offered in India by any University.

  • 1st Year – Three Years Full Time Undergraduate Programme with Trimester Pattern with Choice Based Credit System. The program requires you to achieve. Minimum 24 Credits to be achieved in First Year for admission to Second Year.

  • 2nd Year- Minimum 26 Credits to be achieved in the Second Year to be eligible for admission to Final Year. The student should clear all the subjects of First Year to become eligible for admission to Final Year.
