Programme Overview

Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Economics is a three-year programme based on a choice based credit system and syllabus given by the UGC. It is restructured into trimester pattern with components of peace subjects offered as a part of the MIT-World Peace University Curriculum. The curriculum includes core subjects, compulsory ability enhancement courses, skill enhancement courses, and Generic Electives & Discipline Specific courses. This makes it a unique programme, the only kind offered in India by any University.

Programme Hightlights

The B.A. (Hons.) Economics course at MIT-WPU has evolved from a carefully designed learning pedagogy whereby the programme aims to impart students with rigorous and hands-on training in Economics, with special emphasis on analytical and problem-solving skills. The WPU methodology of imparting education takes students through experiential learning based on –

  • Regular lectures conducted by a combination of Full-time, Part-time & Guest faculties from the Industry and Academia.

  • Series of Guest Lectures and Seminars for students of all three years.

Programme Structure

The course duration for B. A Geography is three years programme based on the Choice Based Credit System and syllabus followed as per UGC guidelines. It is restructured into a trimester pattern with components of peace subjects offered as part of the MIT World Peace University Program. We employ WPU Method of (Continuously Updated Education System) to ensure our students have an edge over others in their Professional endeavors.

  • 1st Year – Three Years Full Time Undergraduate Programme with Trimester Pattern with Choice Based Credit System. The program requires you to achieve. Minimum 24 Credits to be achieved in First Year for admission to Second Year.

  • 2nd Year- Minimum 26 Credits to be achieved in the Second Year to be eligible for admission to Final Year. The student should clear all the subjects of First Year to become eligible for admission to Final Year.


  • Continuous evaluation with choice based credit system

  • Continuous Internal Assessment 50%

  • Term-end Examination 50%
