Department of Mathematics

Mathematics is a core subject for all Engineering disciplines. It serves as a valuable tool for research and development in all branches of Engineering. In today’s world of rapidly advancing technology, mathematical techniques are being increasingly applied in various branches of engineering. Numerical Analysis, Operations Research, Discrete Mathematics are a few areas currently popular with engineers and computer scientists.

The Department of Mathematics at MIT-World Peace University is committed to the promotion of Mathematics in all its aspects. The aim is to develop the aptitude for logical reasoning, analytical ability and proficiency in computational skills among the students. To accomplish the same, we have highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty in the department.

The Department offers courses on Applied Mathematics I, Applied Mathematics II, Applied Mathematics III, Numerical and Statistical Methods, Probability and Statistics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  To develop the computational skills of students, mathematical softwares like Matlab, Scilab,R language are being used during  tutorial sessions.

Department also has its own library which is used by the students from various branches of engineering. Along with books of Engineering Mathematics, books on Real Analysis, Numerical Methods, Topology, Linear algebra, Operation Research, Combinatory, Number theory, Functional Analysis, Complex Analysis etc. are also available in the departmental library for betterment of conceptual understanding and research.

Mathematics Goals:

    •  To develop the department as a Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Research.
    • To Enhance and Promote the Applications of Mathematical Methods in Industrial & Applicable Areas.
