MIT-World Peace University is a growing empire with a deep and firm foundation germinating from MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions.

“Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research, Pune”- MAEERs Society and Charitable Trust was the first step in the revolution of education scenario of Maharashtra taken by a great visionary Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad.

Prof. Karad chose Maharashtra- the third largest state in India, to establish one of the first private engineering colleges in 1983 as Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT). MIT Group of Institutes has emerged as a preferred centre of Value-Based Learning over past 4 Decades. It was accorded the State Private University Status in 2017 under Govt. of Maharashtra Act No. XXXV 2017 and recognized by UGC and is now known as ‘MIT World Peace University’.

With 750+ Full time Faculty and noted Guest Faculty visiting our campus from across the world aided by world class infrastructure & facilities, MIT has steadily expanded its footprints in the field of Education and today has 65+ Group Institutes under its aegis that are focussed on imparting Higher Education across India in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh And North East.

It is worth mentioning that in appreciation of the work carried out by MAEER’s MIT, Pune under the banner of World Peace Centre in championing the cause of promoting the Value Based Universal Education System for spreading the message of peace in the society, based on the appropriate blending of science, technology and spirituality, UNESCO, Paris bestowed the World Peace Centre, MAEER’s MIT, Pune, India with an UNESCO Chair for Human Rights, Democracy, Peace and Tolerance on 12th May 1998.
